have to think Montreal matches. I m surprise teams like Detroit or Ottawa for example haven't put offer sheets out for petterson hughs from Vancouver KK from Montreal. Most of the time i know the offer sheet gets matched it will be interesting to see what happens. So here is a fun discussion topic where does strome dehann subban go to and what is the return if they are traded? Does Matthew tkachuk get traded? Or what other surprising names could be traded before training camp in season or at the tdl?

The real insurrection occurred on Nov 3, 2020. That is the day the government was taken over. Jan 6 was in inside job to confuse people like you Wiz. Why do you fall for that?

I have to admit the reason i call you Marvin is because you remind me of Malkovichs character in the movie Red. Consistent as ever.

If Bergevin doesn't match the offer sheet, the Habs will be a bit thin at center.

A future destination for Strome?

Hurricanes offer sheet Kotkaniemi to a one year contract worth $6.1M that he signed.

Thereā€™s apparently a $20 signing bonus which analysts say seems like trolling for the Aho offer sheet. Aho wears #20.

Canadiens get a 1st and 3rd if they donā€™t match.

They re-signed Poehling to a cheap 2-year deal earlier today.

If I am the GM, I walk, take the picks.

This was retribution from Aho attempt last year, but if the Finnish player wants top play with other Finns, Aho, Teravainen, Rantta, let him go.
He has limited upside and may be a better fit there because the Habs may vow they are winning it this upcoming season, but I dunno how when one the big guys who played his heart out every shift Weber, is gone...
Jesperi didn't necessarily regress but he certainly didn't show a qualitative jump in his play, feet, or smarts you need to be a 2nd line centremen the Habs were going to aski him to attempt to be.

If the story can be believed that the Hurricanes have been trying to make a trade before the draft, you have to wonder if why Danault wasn't reeled in and Cokey traded...maybe I am missing his upside, but I don't think he is gonna a bust out and be Jean Beliveau offensively.

I'm not a big basketball fan but my son is and if you want to see a guy who knows what the hell he's doing as a gm look no further than the Bulls GM.

The Habs could trade the Canes 3rd round pick for Strome. Montreal gets Strome and a 1st for Kotkaniemi and a 3rd.

Chances are the Canes picks are very late in the rounds. So it is more like getting a 2nd and a 4th. I would keep him if I were the Habs.

Habs have no cap space and are over the LTRI money if they keep.kk so they have to.move a player. I let him walk parlay those two 1sts and move up in the draft or use in a trade. Question also besides the 6.1 million. Would the habs have to give the signing bonus of 20million also?

Sure but it's like trading away a 1st round pick, which will hurt the Canes in the long run for a role player. That kid is really not worth $6 mil

Or in the fancy stats peoples eyes equivalent of 3rd round pick. Shocked we were able to draft Cat in the 2nd round.

Heā€™s not worth $6.1 million but the Habs will match, then the Canes will offer sheet him again next summer.

Gotta love what Canes have done today.

Stan is hell-bent on owning the 3rd round of the draft next year when he has more success in the 4th round.

Rumour has it that Stan contemplated offer sheeting Nolan Patrick at $1,500,000 but he didnā€™t want to give up a 3rd round pick.

Eichelā€™s new agent, Brisson has a close relationship with Montreal Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin and Eichel was linked to the Habs at one point.

just saying....

Well, Staal has little left in the tank at 32 to be a long fixture with their kids.
vince Trochek can pot and set up goals but maybe Carolina is looking for a big strong defensive guy and not necessarily an attacking centre in his add.

I love the signing bonus 20 bucks...Aho's sweater #...and Kotkaniemi's $6.1 million cap hit comes in just under the $6.166 million threshold that would have entitled Montreal to a first, second and third-round draft pick.

Well, matching means the Habs have to shed another salary and be Cap strapped all season. Strome makes 3 million and they are already close to over ...

Cap Friendly tweet:
We currently show the #Habs as being $2,276,370 above the ceiling based on a roster of 21 players (12F - 7D - 2G) and 2 players on IR.

It would tentatively put them at $8,376,385 over the cap if Montreal were to match the Offer Sheet.

Good luck trying to find Jonathan Drouin's 5.5 mil for 2 more seasons a new team or finding a trade for newly signed Mike Hoffman's...if any one wanted him, they would have called while he was an UFA....
