I think the obvious "further revenge" is if Montreal matches...Carolina goes after Suzuki next summer. At this point Carolina is simply trying to hurt the Canadiens, even if they do damage to themselves. Molson and Bergeron need to find a way to make peace.

probably what he should do

names in mind?

Guys like Hertle or PL Dubois (not sure he fits in Wpg)….maybe Eichel if he’s healthy. I’m sure they all cost more then the comp….but C could go from being a question mark to being the strength of the team when you factor in Suzuki. Bergevin is ultra aggressive.

I'm half serious here but Dylan Strome is probably available if plans 1 thru 27 fall thru. ............ It's being reported the Canes tried to trade for KK so the interest is legitimate. CAR signs him to a 3-4 mil bridge deal?

Can never have enough centers but for CAR seems it wasn't an immediate position of need but in a couple yrs it might be.

Aho

Trocheck (UFA next yr)

Staal (UFA in 2 yrs)

KK

Stepan (UFA nest yr)

Seth Jarvis in the system.

I saw his name mentionned a little. Don't know him all that much.

You think Winnipeg would give up already on Dubois?

So, if Bergeron gets nervous and forces the issue to make an early signing of Suzuki...it just becomes one more face of the revenge. Make no mistake, Bergeron has been slapped really hard.

Molson needs to step in and make things smooth.

They have to qualify him at 6.1 mill plus next year, and the following which means forget your 3-4 mill bridge deal

So basically Waddell doesn't resign their franchise goaltender who was an absolute stud all season and playoffs and let him go to Detroit for 6M for the next two seasons.

Then absolutely lowball the hell out of Dougie Hamilton and sign Trumpster Tony Deangelo as a desesperate attempt to replace him.

Meanwhile, he signs Freddy Andersen for 4.5M AAV and Anti Raanta for 2M AAV as a 2nd option.

And to top it off, makes a troll offer sheet KK for a one year contract at 6.1M. Whoever gets that boiling hot pocket of a contract will have to deal with a qualifying offer the season after for at least the same amount, that's why KK might very well be gone.

Great offseason Don!

The franchise goaltender with 30 career NHL games and a mediocre at best track record in the minors?

You are 100% positive the Canes can't sign KK to an extension in a month for less than 6.1 per?

Friedman is reporting they already have talked about a longer term deal with a number significantly less than the $6.1 million. Just treating it like a big nice signing bonus.

It's not against the rules to negotiate with a free agent. That's how offer sheets happen in the first place.

His qualifying offer is 6.1.

They can agree on a contract of any term before that
