Again, if the Habs could have gotten a legitimate center for 2 x 1st, they woulda done it years ago.

But go on....

- Mashadar

they don't have two first round picks every year.

But go on.

yup. tbh I was sceptic at the idea of giving him a bridge at 2.5M per for 2 years. I thought it was too high. imagine 6M? lol

Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

Take the 2 Marc, you can do more with them than KK at 6.1, who never got any love here.

I don't know, but the Habs one could be high, lol

I think MB should try to trade the picks to get some help now

You and I are both thinking of Dvorak in exchange for picks otherwise next season is over before it starts

Here is an idea... they do have and have had 1st round picks 2 years in a row.

If you think because they are in the same year, that this is a Magic Bullet that teams are gonna be suddenly fighting over them, then you really need to step out.

it might be anyway, to be honest

They have some good wingers but the C line is scary

They needed a C while KK was still here

if only you could do that

KK is not worth 6M, any way you slice it and doesn't sound like somebody who wants to play in mtl

bottom line, Habs were already weak at center. they are now a bit weaker. they didn't lose Suzuki here. good luck to the kid, and thank you Carolina!

Don't worry, Druoin will fill in as 2nd line center until Byron comes back from injury.

All good.

They call me 'Giantsbane.' Want to know why? I killed a giant when I was 10. Then I climbed right into bed with his wife. When she woke up, you know what she did? Suckled me at her teat for three months. Thought I was her baby. That's how I got so strong. Giant's milk

Does MB have any center depth with or without Danault and now KK?

No.

There is your answer.

kk the kid never got a chance here.

He'll go down to Raleigh and finally get his chance.

I think they were far from a contender next season with him as well

Losing Danault and Weber, I think they needed more than one off season to find solutions

$6 million is far too much for a 3rd liner. Fortunately for the Canes the deal is only for 1 year. Hopefully Bergevin doesn't match. The picks may help with the rebuild.

It is almost like someone said... hey, the draft is in Montreal, let's see if we can get the #1 pick.

Then everything will be forgiven.
