Seems the above is being accepted as if it's true... - kingcong39
There are plenty of stories out there about his alcohol consumption.
I’m not trying to be a pot calling the kettle black(I consume plenty myself) but where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
His problem IMO is his lack of leadership. They put the “C” on him way to early and the stories coming out like what Dea has stated.
It’s a shame because the guy it talented and you dont move that kind of talent and have it work out. The only example of this working out for the team moving said player that I can think of is Joe Thornton.
I don’t count Gretzky because they were loaded with or without him.
Same reasons any other people have drug/alcohol problems: substances help people cope with stress when it seems like nothing else will, he was very young and very rich at the same time, his peer group had older members who were substance abusers, he was living as a teen hundreds of miles from his family, he was playing on an awful team in a city with abundant alcohol abuse. Wrap all that up and it takes someone of very strong character to stay clean.
Having a powdery nose or a drinking problem are the least of the things I can blame Jack for. Cocaine has been an issue in NHL locker rooms since the late 1990s. Alcohol is an issue for every family in America and Canada at some point I imagine. Unless there are some specific outrageous allegations against Jack I can't see how he's done anymore drinking than hundreds of NHLers have done in Buffalo. - lacaprup
His issues may have been there before he hit the NHL.

Cozens if he applies. Beyond that it's Peterka, Johnson, UPL, Portillo, Samuellson, Bryson and Laaks...that's about it. The Russian wingers we drafted this year have a chance, but they're a long ways off.
This is the 1st time in his life someone/an entity has stood up to him.
It’s embarrassing seeing a 24 yr old having a temper tantrum.
This is one of the few times I side with the team. - dadeadhead
Maybe. Idk. Hard to judge exactly what happened and/or what is happening but KAGM has shown some steely resolve despite an incredibly difficult situation.

Quinn will be the best of the bunch though E4. - QuinnFan

I’m not one to wish ill of people.
Everyone deserves to be successful.
This is one of the rare times for me that I hope he gets moved and has zero success with said new team.
He could’ve been a God here, instead he’s a chump.
I can see it 15-20 yrs from now him being interviewed and stating I handled the Buffalo situation poorly. I wish I handled it a different way.

That's the problem with saviors. Way too much pressure on one person (see Kelly). I don't blame Jack
