I don't think GMs will ever be thrilled when someone swoops in and try to steal their best prospects, for one, three or 10 years.
If it's petty revenge and completely insane they should just let KK walk and it should hurt a competitor in the east, but they won't because they got caught with their pants down with no backup plan at center and the offer isn't ludicrous enough to just brush it off and take the picks.
I think it's brilliant move whithin what's allowed in the CBA. - Fredobbface
Disagree on the ludicrous front. He hasn't shown anything yet that makes him worth a third of that offer, even if he has the potential.

it is. it was getting a bit too quiet the past few weeks. - fidopro
Can we also talked about how Bergy left Price unprotected at the draft, said he would be out maybe all season, that the medical test weren't available. But 48 hours after the draft they were available and now he's going to be at camp. If that's not petty I don't know what is

Well according to the reports, they offered KK something between 1.5M to 2.5M for about 2 years.
So... that wasn't enough.
We only know KK was FINE with 6.1M. - Scabeh
revenge money is soo funny. he is no better than Galchenyuk was at 21.
nothing in his game can make anyone think he will be a regular 60 point center. let alone a superstar worth 7M+ a year in his prime

I said it before and I'll say it again.
Bergevin might not be perfect, but he's one god damn entertaining GM.

Galchenyuk scored 30 goals and 56 points when he turned 21.
Not sure that was the best exemple to back up your point, but I get it.

well different players, different positions, different styles. but Galchenyuk broke in as an 18 year old and scored 20 goals and 46 points in his third year, then hit 30 goals in year 4.
