I remember him last winter (regular season) saying he had no problem with Price' game. he said and I quote : ' he didn't cost us any games'.
like for your franchise player, your 10M player, the expectations are that he must play just well enough that he doesn't cost you a game. (frank).

We should have retained Danault for another 500 k if he that s all it took, but it is what it is. We had a good run this spring, but we don't have a strong enough core locked up yet to repeat that on an annaual basis. I'm happy to have enjoyed that run, but we might as well be realistic about what's coming.

not saying we should pretend like it's going to be a glorious season, but they haven't even played a single game yet, and there are still decisions to be taken concerning the roster. I guess I'll never understand the automatic pessimism...

I may be wrong but I don't think it was the money. Danault wanted out. he wanted to have PP time. something Habs were not ready to give him.

if Price plays like last year, they'll miss the playoffs. by 20 points.
if he plays like he did in the playoffs, they'll have a chance. a slim one though.

some people it's just a defense mechanism. i always legit think the eagles will win like 4 games fewer than they end up winning.

other people, it's so they can kill the pain by at least being able to say they were right. it's important.

Well, I do hope he does something interesting to spicen it up. It does kinda suck they have alot of decent pieces in place ie Petry, Price, Suzuki, some top 4 dmen, and strong on the wings, but that they lost more than they gained this summer at the key center position. That's why I'm not opposed to trading Guhle or somebody, because I think this roster is just a couple of gears away from a good machine, but it's non functional without those pieces.

yeah, unless it's a deal you just can't refuse I wouldn't trade Guhle, they have decent pieces like you're saying but they're not just one player away from being a true contender either. it just feels like we'd regret such a trade, yet again.

He would have got it now. Oh well, what's done is done. Bergevin definitely doesn't seem great at retaining free agents, this stinks like the Radulov and Markov situations.
