i don't think it's overblown. i think if the relationship between the team and player was bad or toxic before the OS, then it definitely plays a factor in Montreal's decision. you don't match this offer unless you love and believe in the player.

I believed they will match because they have no other choice and missing the playoffs after a SCF would be castatrophic and MB would'nt likely survive it. I don't think they love or hate KK, I'm sure they hoped his progression would have been faster but they scratched him in the SCF because he was a defensive liability agaisnt a team that brought offense from all 4 lines.

I don't put Lebust on them if the crowd was screaming his name to draft him, but let's replace him with Beaulieu.

I'm fine with a clean out from top to bottom.

Everything else in this situation, as I've said, is speculation. And that's from somebody who speculates Kotkaniemi wants out but couldn't make an honest argument that's valid as to why outside of massive assumptions

Meh Leblanc was drafted where he was on most lists, coming of a 59 points in 60 games season in the USHL, his devloppement was botched by him and the organisation.

KK was projected mid to late first round but dropped down to 3rd overall whitout playing a single game when Montreal got that pick at the lottery all because it was the worst draft for centers since Galchenyuk's

I agree completely with shovelling out the noise and making the best decision, but everyone is so concerned about PR, and this likely included their boss (Molson).

If they were really ready to ignore all of the media racket, we'd hire the best coach available whatever language he speaks, the best roster available etc. Instead we have apologies being made about we didn't have a francophone on the roster for a couple of days.

Evans make more sense on a checking line.

and yes, you have to factor he's still just 21. Made the league at 18. Most players don't. You can argue it happened too fast but they had nobody at the time.
