I think you guys over estimate the lost of kk. the kid scored 5 goals last year. 6 the year before. it's not like he is a super star defensively either.
yes he is young, but that won't be difficult to replace. come on.

Mathieu Perrault would become our second line center for the near future

how many did he scores in the playoffs?

Evans make more sense on a checking line.

and yes, you have to factor he's still just 21. Made the league at 18. Most players don't. You can argue it happened too fast but they had nobody at the time.

- deadpoulet

almost as many.
bottom line, short term he won't be difficult to replace. long term... depends how he will evolve.

Only needs to adjust a few things so it all comes together.

It's happening very soon, hopefully not in Carolina.

he had 9 goals last season, almost twice as many as kk. while being a much better defensive player.

the current version of KK is replaceable by any serviceable center like Mathieu Perreault. but it's the future risk. is he Lars Eller or is he just a really slowly developing player?

agreed. long term is another story. but even then it depends how good he will become. it's a big if.

when you're talking about such low numbers, the comparisons become kind of insignificant lol

I'm willing to bet KK scores more goals than Perreault this year, wherever he plays.

my point eactly. the lost of kk is not that terrible, for the upcoming season I mean.
for the future... we'll see. for the future, Habs have time to replace him, either by the draft of via a trade.

I'm not a betting man, but that's an interesting one. kk should play LW on the 3rd line in Carolina. Perreault could very well end up playing C on the top9 with some PP time. that wil be a close race!

I mentionned that last night. maybe they should try Ylonen at center in Laval this year. just to see.

Hains: All Quiet on the Northern Front

48 hours after the Hurricanes signed Kotkaniemi to an offer sheet, the Montreal Canadiens have yet to make any announcement about the situation, unlike what the Canes had done a couple of years ago when the roles were reversed.

- Karine Hains

Canes havent won jack poop.

They are painting themselves in a corner.

If they do get KK, he'll be playing 4th line.
