That's the only factor that could make me change my mind.

Fun fact, here are a short, incomplete list of players who had worse seasons than KK at 20 years old:

Teravainen
Kuznetsov
Kucherov
Pacioretty
Huberdeau

Keep our young good player!

- Scabeh

Kucherov was a 60-point player by his second season. Huberdeau had a sophomore slump where he put up KK numbers and then never again fell below the 55-60 point range. Pacioretty spent parts of 2 seasons in the AHL. these aren't great comparables because these players followed different development paths than KK. if anything id say these players exemplify why KK should not have seen an NHL ice surface until he was 20.

They have followed a different path, but the result is the same.

At the same point in their career (age 20) they were no better than our boy.

Beauvillier. Another guy rushed in at 18 who is decent defensively and massively inconsistent...of course he was the 30th pick and not 3rd.

And we should have drafted him in his draft year. I was pretty high on him.

I think that's the year we went with Juulsen.

was KK being paid 6.1M for next year?
- Symba007

No but we can debate how we got to that point too if you'd like because either way that doesn't make Dvorak for Kotkaniemi a win

speaking of Juulsen, he played 9 games last year.

You're stuck on the idea KK will be exactly the same next season though.

It's highly possible he'll already be better than Dvorak.

Habs aren't winning poop this upcoming season so does that really matter that much?

Hey we finished two spots out of the playoffs instead of five...progress

I'd also rather have the picks than Dvorak.
