What they don't love is paying UFA contracts, especially big ticket ones. Under Dundon they've tended to trade away guys who were approaching UFA status and looking for significant raises.
Aho is going to be where we find out just how committed to avoiding those contracts they are. |

I guess you have to consider the worst-case scenarios :
1-Worst-case scenario if MB lets KK walk: he flourishes in CAR and becomes the center that the habs needed, while MTL is unable to find a decent replacement with the compensation picks.
2-Worst-case scenario if MB matches the offer: KK sucks and becomes another Galchenyuk-type situation, and the habs are tight against the cap with the 6.1M salary so they're unable to acquire a decent top 6 C.
