I played for about 20 years locally. I went through the Depew Saints org from squirt to junior, one year at college and then played senior B in the area. Dad was a referee in WNY in the early 70's and then he turned to coaching for the Saints. Had a rink growing up in the back yard in the late 60's. It was hockey 24/7 at the house. Had season tix for the Sabres from 1970-78. I have degenerative disks in my neck and a herniated disc in my low back as war wounds now. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

If you had $10,000 to bet, and it all must be bet by Saturday 9/4 at noon EDT, would you bet it on:

Preseason starts in mid September, 4 out of the last 8 years the Sabres have finished in dead last place.


I'd like to debate the mitts vs. Joker identical deals:

Seems like way more value signing mitts ( 12th in the nhl in goal scoring in April 2020) vs. Joker with a total of 8 points last season.

I realize they play different positions, and DEFENSEman shouldnt be judged solely on point's.....

I'd take 9 out of 10 mitts. 1 joker.....

Anyone like the joker deal better?

I thought both deals were very good and to me seemed like an investment in both players futures. Joker might have suffered under Krueger but if he's paired with Dahlin this year on a full time basis he could really elevate his game. And both will have RFA status when the deals are over.

The Sabres want to go young and both Mitts and Joker could be a big part of that future core. They just need to fix the goaltending lol.
