Okposo is seemingly very tight with the organization - he lives in Buffalo year round and he is often the person the team makes available for press stuff, jersey releases, etc.
The fact that he is skating with Eichel is interesting to me - Hank Balling
i love okposo...he seems like a real good, high-character kinda guy...the contract is what it is, but he's a genuine good-guy, imo |

Hank is back on the Eichel will have 90 points and lead the Sabres to the final playoff spot tip! |

Looking forward to see how he plays in Granato's system, he was looking very good in it until Irwin blasted him in the face. |

That was the best hit and shot that Irwin had all last season. |

Evolving Hockey has it at a 78% chance combined from a 5 year to an 8 year deal.
A 3 year deal for Dahlin would be a very bad idea, and I hope Adams would know better then to offer that to Dahlin. - kingcong39
he'll be arb-eligible at the end of the third season, correct? |

Nah, I'm just thinking out loud.
It's been a weird situation all along and it's never felt like anyone has the full scoop of what's actually going on behind the scenes. |

He butchered last summer. Only way things get worse now is a Dahlin offer sheet. - Lunaion
At this point, would that be the worst thing? 4 -1sts when the team is tearing it down to the studs?
The OS'ing team would have to bid very, very high for the Sabres flush with Cap space not to match it, hence why I went the 4 - 1sts tier.
But in 2 years time, when things have changed and Sabres likely not as Cap flexible and trying to come out of their rebuild to begin competing, it would be a disaster then.
Sign him long-term. |

i really don't know...that said, it seems like that's awful quick only being in the league four seasons and being all of 22 yrs. old at the end of the 2021-22 season |

No problem, there's another one out there about them but can't find it, maybe Brisson has told Okposo to try and take Jack under his wing a little bit and show him what maturity brings. |

What would be the worst? I'll go with 4 years @ 8.2m. first/second/third comp and makes him a UFA at the earliest possible date. You'd have to match, and you'd be pissed.

Nobody knows anymore ... there are no "insiders" except what the Org wants leaked.
I'm flipping to a 30% chance he stays here...primarily after he sees what the team plays like under a longer Granato run. Just keep him out long enough to secure a 2nd to garner a top 3 pick I. '22.
Eichel, Wright, Cozens, Mitts down the middle would be unbelievable! |

i don't think brisson would need to tell okposo to do that...am pretty convinced he'd do it under his own volition...
am also thinking that if jack were to come back (not expecting it) and he were stripped of the 'c' (which probably won't happen either,) okposo would probably wear it...these two creating a bond would help smooth out a very rough situation like that...just a thought |

Eligibility for salary arbitration is dependent on entry-level signing age, and professional experience (CBA Reference 12.1 (a)):
18-20: 4 years professional experience.
21: 3 years professional experience.
22-23: 2 years professional experience.
24 and older: 1 year professional experience.
Signing age is the age the player is on September 15 of the year they signed their contract, unless they turn 20 from September 16-December 31, in which case they are considered 20. |

4 NHL seasons is the max actually. It's less if you sign after 20.
edit: too slow |

Meh, then extend him at the end of year 3 for 8 years....call the whole scenarios "Canes-Habs Duel -The Sequell".
Once extended, OS the other team's RFA, lol! |

Probably right with Okposo and Brisson, I don't expect Jack back, but weirder things have happened. |
