The risk of an OS right now I believe is between 0 and 2% while they are negotiating a deal. It's the threat if they go with a short-term deal that becomes more likely.

What would be the worst? I'll go with 4 years @ 8.2m. first/second/third comp and makes him a UFA at the earliest possible date. You'd have to match, and you'd be pissed.

I'm thinking in terms of structuring the deal in such a way that the offer sheet AAV is higher then the actual AAV if the Sabres were to match, when you factor in the Sabres desire to trade Eichel and take as little cap back as possible.
