Eh. That's the best value, but I have always thought that "value" is the most over rated term used in fantasy football and drafting

The players who win you leagues are guys like Adams or Ridley who are leading the league in receiving and putting up 25-35 point weeks.

Not guys like Gibson

Just my .02 cents

Sure, but much like what you just posted about Javante Williams and Keenan Allen, you need your mid range guys to be in the upper echelon as well. In a 12 team league, Gibson is for sure a higher end RB2, even if just by sheer volume. And not having to worry about paying 25 for that RB2 allows you to get two of Adams and Ridley types instead of an Adams and James Robinson and Amari Cooper for example. So which would you rather have? Adams/Gibson/Ridley or Adams/Robinson/Cooper. I'll take the first, but that's me I guess.

In your scenario obviously I'd have option 1, but that's not a guarantee you get Adams or Ridley.

My point is I think I'd rather get the best player with the best value rather than just the best value

I'd go Ridley

yeah it's not close

don't overthink it

get gibson for the dollar and then go get the top wr and top rb in your mind and build around those 3

I get it, gibson doesn't pass the wow factor and I see him as an rb 2 but your not getting james robinson (rb 20) for even 25 dollars as even he will go for around 30

- homiedclown

I agree, but I will say I had option of keeping Diggs for a 6th round pick or Justin Jefferson for a 13th round pick. I chose to keep Jefferson because of the incredible value, but regretted not keeping Diggs once the draft started. I realized there is intangible value of being able to keep a best in class player.

Remember when I was hyping Justin Jefferson before he was drafted and you and pretty much everyone else said he wouldn't be good in NFL? You nailed it. Defy the 3ER's Football takes, look like a poop for brains. Abide by the 3ER's Football takes, look like a (frank)in CHAMPION. Fortunate for some, unlucky for others, the archive doesn't lie. Play with fire scarecrow, you're gonna get burned. Whether you like the 3ER or hate the 3ER, better learn to love the 3ER because he's the best thing going. Wooooooo! Woooooo! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I'm comfortable going 120 on an RB1 and WR1 if I can add a RB2 for $1. It makes sense, but I also understand where you're coming from. You win with big league guys. I won this particular league last year with McCaffery/Davis, Adams, Ridley.

Yep, people make the mistake of keeping the best value instead of the best player in keeper leagues.

You win leagues with the best studs, not depth

If you can guarantee yourself one that's fine

The way I figure it, spend $17 on Ridley, pony up for a 1st round RB or WR, and you have two monsters.

I just don't view Gibson as a monster

I mean, he can guarantee himself one, just has to PAY THE PRICE. He will have the ability to do that because he won't be hamstrung already. If he got Adams for 40 last year, I'd imagine that his league drafts more for depth then studs anyway, so should easily be able to outbid for 2 studs and keep Gibson. Knowing who you draft with and their tendencies also plays a factor here.

When Granato talks about the "psychological damage" he inherited, Skinner is posterboy #1. He's still one of the best skaters in the NHL. There's every reason to believe he'll rebound if given a chance

I don't either, but he's still going for $40, I don't see how he's not a healthy RB2. Regardless I'm going out there and throwing cash on RB1 and WR1 like I'm EKane at the craps table. So am I going to spend 121 or 161 on 3 players? I'm aggressive up front. I dropped 80 on McCaf and the budget was 200 last season. No sweat. Almost bit me if I didn't land Davis.

I believe pundits were down on Green Bay last year. I got Rodgers, Adams and Jones all under priced last season in a pair of leagues.

I always go RB’s first three picks.

I’ve never done an auction draft before though 🤷🏻‍♂️

Walked out of my draft the other night with Barkley, Mixon, Carson. Grabbed Jeudy and Thielen in the mid rounds and I’m banking on 80+ catches from both to our produce their ADP’s.

Even got Mahomes in that draft.

I’d honestly spend all $225 on 3 guys if it were me if it guaranteed me 3 of the top 10 RB’s.

Can find WR’s anywhere.

I grabbed him in 2/3 leagues and one is a dynasty and I got him late.

I feel great about having Rodgers throwing to him next year

If you're that confident that you can/will outbid for top guys than Gibson is the answer.

I just know auctions are unpredictable

My theory lately has been to guarantee yourself the best player/s possible ad it will give you the best chance

Roll a D20, don't forget to calculate THACO, add your ability modifiers and nerd.

I can't say much about the characters you're talking about, but I know D&D talk when I hear it.

Hmm I don't remember that (and as a Packers fan I think I would have). Adams went for 63 in my league (200). Jones was a keeper for cheap though, so couldn't really gauge him. Either way, Adams will be a monster, but I don't see as many TDs for him this year as last. I still think you can get two of the top 10 players in the league (RB or WR wise) and keep Gibson for 1. But I wouldn't blame you for doing Ridley either for what Broads said. I just am not the biggest Ridley believer in the world. He's had single coverages so far his whole career, usually against CB2 from teams. He's about to get the Julio treatment, which maybe he'll be able to still dominate. I'll let someone else figure that one out, but if I could get him cheaply (like you) definitely worth a consideration.

I do my high school buddies draft way early, my team is already shot. Took Akers and Dobbins in rounds 2/3. Whoops. (We care more about getting together and drinking then actually playing though, so not that big of a deal)

Ouch.

I was going to prioritize Dobbins myself until the injury. Did both my drafts the last few days.

I petitioned to have a draft postponed to this week because of my fear of a freak preseason injury happening week 3.

Sorry for jinxing you I guess haha

but he is saving 30 plus dollars to buy those 2 or 3 guys to win the whole thing

he will be better off overpaying a tad for adams with his savings on gibson then using the adams as keeper value and paying full price for the rb2 he will then draft

No eichel : skimmer (15-20 G) - eakin ( 7-10G)- olo (20-25G)

= 42 - 55 goals

Eichel- skimmer (30G) - eichel (35-40G) -olo (30G)

= 95- 100 goals.

With eichel, its reasonable to think the Sabres could score an additional 43-45 goals this season.

43-45 goals is probably 15-20 more wins

So eichel comes back and we have a young competitive team.... and everyone around him ,become more valuable

Only saving grace is I have Mahomes and Russell Wilson. If Mahomes goes full 2019, I got a shot at winning any given week.

I know but he's bidding against people not himself. He isn't guaranteed anyone.

The only one he's guaranteed is then Gibson

Like I said, me personally would go Ridley, use the savings on another stud, and hopefully walk away with two monsters.

I won my big money league because of 3 simple things

I went late on allen and hit at qb
I went late on wr2 and hit with diggs

I grabbed gibson from waivers

IMO you win the league with waiver pick up, you don't win the league with draft

you can however lose the league with your draft
