Did you score more than 20 goals in each of your 2 nhl seasons of just over 50 games each?
7th round pick?
Still have a target on your back?
Or were you the take the money and run type?
9 million to score 2 more goals than girgensons? - Boss34
Agreed on Skinner being overpaid. The question is do you bury him on the depth chart or do you try to put him in a position to succeed? There's no rewriting the contract.
Stuck for 5 years...
Also I probably didn't score 20 goals in my career. I had the skating of Matt Moulson and the size of Brian Gionta. |

I played through high school and a year of junior...then I started reffing and have made it to the professional ranks. - Stripes77
I played AA. Highest level in Canada is AAA.
I wasn’t a slouch but wasn’t quite good enough to go anywhere with it.
High school hockey was fun though. Played with a few guys that went to the OHL, one even got drafted by the Canes in the 5th round but never made it. Does the name Tyler Ganly ring a bell ? Maybe you reffed a few of his games.
That was the equivalent of AAA for the most part but it was just a tournament team.

Idk why you’d proceed like you would get a logical honest response.
If you want to put Skinner in a position to succeed you’re too forgiving, if you want to put Olofsson where he belongs on the 2nd or 3rd line you’re a “hater”.
This is going to be a very long year on this board considering the circumstances |

Does he have a responsibility to produce in some way? To earn that money in some way? Was it a good idea to try to develop two scoring lines instead of just have one and finish in the bottom 5 again? Does he have any responsibility for falling off the track? Or is it someone else, others responsible for him? - GilPerreault11
Sure. No question he bears responsibility. No question the weight of the contract had an effect on him. Sabres gotta make the best of the situation. Putting him in the top-6 where he belongs and knowing the type of player he is, as well as what makes him tick, would be a good start on any road to recovery |

Quick scan of the back read and see posts on bad bills draft picks.
No one mentions Mike cheeseburger Williams. Or Butler’s run out the door pick of Flowers…. Utter garbage. Not Sabres bad but pretty pretty pretty awful! |

Good reply. IMO, the players and the agents that are demanding that kind of money need to take the bulk of the responsibility when they don't live up to the deal, I am sure that they negotiated the team way up from where they ideally wanted the player in the first place. That said, the team sure as heck needs to maximize what they can get out of the player once the deal is done. Burying Skinner on the 4th line makes no sense, at all. It's not like you overpaid Lucic, and the third or fourth line is where his skillset actually belongs. |
