I finally watched the Danbury Trashers Doc. Pretty impressive team that kid put together. Especially for 17 years old. All the focus is on the fighting but the team had some good hockey players respectively to the league. The toughest guys + goal scorers is never a bad thing. Still find it funny that people think removing that part of the game actually grows hockey. It doesn’t. I would be calling his crazy middle school coach with a contract if I owned a team. That dude was bat poop crazy. Haha.

I actually just started watching right now.

Nobody wants to remove fighting. The idea was just make it a smaller part of the game and open up to more scoring and guess what, the game did grow from where it was pre-lockout.

Ok, this is boring. Let's do some bold predictions...

Marino will bounce back offensively, score 10 goals for over 30 points.

I thought Carter and Zucker were good together the time they had? Or am I mistaken?

If the Pens extend Rust at say.....6mx5, they'll regret that pretty quickly IMO. Love the player, but giving him his third contract will be dicey. Wish we had something in the pipeline to avoid it. We don't.

They did, but Zucker still didn't really score with him.

Pens have a decent regular season and lose to the Islanders in the first round.

They don't have Eberle to score 90 (frank)ing goals against us anymore haha. Thought that was a terrible move by them.

Haha true. However Zuck seems the type of player that's more "North/South". Why he looked better with Sid and Carter.

I told you last season, you're getting Zucker with Malkin and you're going to like it.

Looking at it realistically, we have five LW: Guentzel, Zucker, McGinn, Heinen, and ZAR. You basically have two options for Malkin, Guentzel and Zucker. If we've learned one thing with Sullivan, he's as stubborn as they come.

Hahaha, I really want Zucker to work there. Mcginn plays both fortunately. Also wouldn't be surprised to see Mcginn with Geno and Kap.

Heinen is going to play somewhere. I think he's capable of playing his off side also. Sullivan likes to use speed on his right side and I have no idea how fast Heinen can skate. So that's a wait and see.

Of course that line up is a best case scenario as there will be injuries. I look for both Malkin and Carter to miss significant time in a full season.

Actually with Geno out to start the year:
Guentz-Sid-Rust
Zuck-Cart-Kap
Mcginn-Blue-Heinen
ZAR-Boyle/Simon-Rod

I'll be surprised if ZAR and Blueger aren't on the 3rd line together. Sully has turned to that defense first 3rd line a lot the past couple seasons when injuries hit.

And how much more offense would McGinn or Heinen offer anyways?

I would go ZAR-Boyle-Blue as the third line and just try and treat the fourth line like leper’s until Genoa comes back. Give them an offensive zone face off twice a period maybe.

I could see it as possible for Heinen, but feels high to me for McGinn.

He's been scoring at that rate the last four years. Last season he was at .35ppg which is good for about 28 points, the season before was a down year for about a 20 point pace and the two before that he put up 30 and 26.
