The Arizona Model - boonerbuck
It should be fun watching them and Buffalo battle for 32nd spot.
If I was Benning, I would be seeing what it takes to get Chychrun out of Arizona. |

Watching an interesting documentary on Netflix
Untold: crime and penalties. Pretty interesting about the UHL's Dunbury Thrashers. Trigger warning, not for the shiny hockey types. - Reubenkincade
Ya, started that last night, what a poopshow! Hilarious and scary and completely (frank)ed up |

Habs fans shouldn't feel too down about losing Kotkaniemi. After all, 50% of marriages end in Dvorak |

The Coyotes have been a sh it team for the better part of their existence in AZ, with the stellar drafts coming up, 2022 & 2023, they are trying to get their hands on a franchise player like Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin, Hedman, MacKinnon, etc.
You simply can't be a competitive team or a Cup contending team unless you've got those types of players. |

I think that’s what they were going for…
“The green jersey combines elements from amateur and semi-pro hockey clubs of yesteryear including the 1930’s Minneapolis Millers (hockey not baseball) and St. Paul Saints.”
It’s for a retro outdoor game so they will definitely look the part. It’s growing on me. |

I get what you are saying, but don't agree entirely. Both Boston and St. Louis have won cups without any of those types, Anaheim and San Jose have been very competitive, until recently.
Toronto, Buffalo and Edmonton have been pretty blah with some of those types of talent.
I 100% agree about the sh itshow Arizona has been. They don't deserve a team.

There's no one true formula that works, many have been successful, I'm just saying they're finally trying something different. Also, Boston and St. Louis had those types of players, they just didn't need to finish last in the league to get them. Arizona's been unable to acquire such talent so the new regime is trying something different. |

Iirc, Coyotes had the top ranked prospect pool for 3 years in a row. They are a terrible franchise and should be relocated.
They can't get fans out, they are poorly run, and are constantly get bailed out by the rest of the league.
It is because of teams like the Coyotes that the cap doesn't increase as much as it should. |

I agree, they've been poorly ran for years and years, just none stop issues. A league embarrassment to be honest. They have a new regime in charge now though.
Sadly my wife and I have come to the tough decision to sell everything in AZ and move home, for various reasons. She's had a battle with breast cancer many years ago and the healthcare providers here just don't want to have anything to do with her so we are selling everything, after just getting her back down here, and going back to the island. She's had enough of the USA. So I won't be here to enjoy Benning's scraps |

I'm sorry about your wife's health issues but am glad you are moving back to Canada. Tough decision I'm sure but the right one. I'm sure you can find a nice whitewashed gated community south island. |

Now that Benning has gone all-in, sort of, I would be fine giving up a 1st and Rathbone(or something like that) for Chychrun. He is a very good defenseman. |

Lol.
Chychrun or Fabbro was who I wanted when they picked Juolevi, so I would be pretty happy getting him. |

You could do that for sure . I think with OEL you will get 4 good Edler type years and with the others it gives you time to draft and develop a LHD. I think Larsson adds stability and experience to the left side so finally now I would look at other positions.
I can also see the Yotes hanging on to Chych. I think they have a plan to draft high and plenty in the next two years and have a boatload of cap so when Matthews is a UFA they are ready to pay him big time. That is three years from now.
In the words of Jim Benning , 3 more years.

They didn't do too bad in the playoffs, while KK wasn't relevant. |
