I heard they already bought the land for the new arena. |

How about another team in Ontario?
Edit: San Diego is another big American city that doesn’t deserve a sports team. |

Taken 16 th . A few GMs including ours missed the boat on that one.
Looking at his numbers if they did a redraft he might now go #2 - VANTEL
I was surprised anyone would call OJ a sensation. He’s been everything but sensational. |

Our jaws dropped for sure. I can't recall anyone trying to push for OJ but apparently he was fine in jr .
I believe I wanted Tkachuk or Sergachev

That’s where I was leaning aka BPA. Trade down was for McAvoy. |

It would be even better if they played and Kk got another unimportant overtime winner to beat the habs and non-factored Carolina to the finals - neem55
That's why I mentioned the OT winner in the first post, because of how important ALL his goals were. Also, remember when I told you that you congrats you had convinced me that you were right about KK?? Don't understand why you had to take another shot across the bow, a very Drift-woodian-move Neemer.
Also, no, BallBag is not my alter ego. I'm only one man but thanks for the accusation. |

Its a shame they won't give Hamilton a team - they got a great fans base that would support the team for sure. Not to mention, Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga populations that don't like the Leafs. Hell, even Niagara, Guelph, Brantford, Kitchner are really not far drives at all, closer than driving into downtown.

I can't speak for Rubey but I am assuming if he has Chychrun then he has moved on from a 8 mil Hughes.
I don't think Canucks can keep all free agents over the next three years so I would ask who and when is it appropriate? I think Petey Hughes and Boeser are all safe but when would you move JTM?
With lack of centers being available , if he has a good year then it might be time at TDL (depending how Canucks are doing) . If Dovorak went for a first and a second what would JTM be worth? - VANTEL
If they're winning with them they will. That's what competative teams do.
Cap recapture and buyouts come off. Cap will go up a bit. Plus Woo replaces a RHD like Hamonic or Myers. Also a forward like Pearson would be moved before JTM.
Just don't see how any of the UFAs will be able to command significant raises that can't be met. |

Here’s the latest population numbers:
Toronto 6,255,000
Montreal 4,247,000
Vancouver 2,606,000
Calgary 1,581,000
Edmonton 1,491,000
Ottawa-Gatineau 1,408,000
Quebec 832,000
Winnipeg 825,000
Hamilton 771,000
Kitchener-Cambrigde-Waterloo 571,000
London 511,000
St. Catharines-Niagara 418,000
Halifax 415,000
Oshawa 402,000
Victoria 390,000
Windsor 338,000
Saskatoon 331,000
So based on numbers alone, Quebec City and Hamilton are up next. |

I do find it impressive that we are seeing incredible talent coming out of non traditional hockey markets like Texas, California, and Arizona. I truly believe it’s because of the NHL’s presence in those states.
I don’t like Bettman but him and the owners have done a good job of growing the sport in the American south and west. |

From TSN…
“Speaking to the media for the first time since acquiring Jesperi Kotkaniemi by way of an offer sheet, Hurricanes GM Don Waddell says the offer sheet was more about the type of player the team is acquiring in Kotkaniemi rather than revenge for the Canadiens offer sheet to Sebastian Aho.”
What a bunch of poop! The Canes have done everything in their power to connect this offer sheet to Aho’s, even going so far as to copy word for word Montreal’s statement on Aho’s offer when it happened.
I think Waddell is a bit of a wanker. |

Valid points .
I seen teams letting significant players walk Grubauer Hyman Hoffa Hamilton
Just can't keep handing out raises the every player in a flat cap. I do think JTM will be moved but I can see your point

I am a Bettman fan. I find him good and entertaining. He has accepted his role as the villain and uses it to his advantage. I agree he has really grown the game.

Yes calculations will be made. Canucks are still forming their top pay core. I agree its concievable that JTM could be moved. But they can afford him with Bo, BB, QH and Petey if they want too. |

I definetly thought we were being very sarcasti and ribbing, not trying to take it one too far at all. But lets be honest, Drift doesnt actually talk hockey other than "we need more grit" and complain about everything Canucks. |

That Fin junior team drove up rankings. Just like USA one did with players like Boldy. So glad Canucks learned from that and took Podz. |
