just thinking out loud
Drouin-Suzuki-Caufield
Hoffman-Dvorak-Gallagher
Toffoli-Evans-Anderson
Lehkonen-Poehling-Armia
Had to see it in writing lol
I could live with that - braidan
So you would put our best scorer on the 3rd line…
Drouin who let the team down(not his fault but still…) will play on the first line…
Good luck with that…
Switch Drouin with Toffoli and maybe… |

And this is how to make bad even worse... Dvorak will never be more than a 3C.
This turn of events was a colossal error by the franchise, exemplifying terrible asset management.
This is the Tyler Seguin trade to Boston level of stupid. - archromat
No I'm sorry. Nothing is that stupid. Having said that how many cups have the Stars won? |

I agree he had to do "something", but acquiring another overpriced marginal player, particularly a questionable centreman who can't win faceoffs is not the something anyone but the Atlantic Division opponents hoped for.
There was a wasted opportunity to improve the team. Instead that let the Coyotes shed a bad contract. - Jackie Daytona
Over 50 percent on draws every season he's been in the league. Do your homework |

I don't agree. Have you watched Strome? Minus 16 and he sucks on the dot. That is not what any team is looking for. |

Even worse.... The first-round selection will be the better of Montreal's own first-rounder and Carolina's first-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. - Mashadar
Unless a lottery pick |

Cause he thinks he is better than he really is...... and immature as hell, how he let that 20 dollar signing bonus be anywhere near that contract tells me all I need to know-- see ya
and Karine has an absolute hard on for management---- they can do no right--blah blah blah - bigmacdaddy
Agreed. What's up with that. Date gone wrong? |

We all would have done to be fair. If there’s someone to blame it’s the Montreal organization and no one else.
this Dvorak trade is a steal for the HABS....damn right they are a better team today...and damn right they need to look internally to see why they have had such a hard me developing young talent....but today we celebrate MB....he got us a game changer C for the next year!.#gohabsgo! |

I like your enthusiasm about Dvorak and I hope you're right, I haven't seen him play a whole lot but his stats are very okay-ish, and a lot of folks in here are basically saying he sucks lol |

It's not that he sucks. Far from it. He's a 3rd line C on a winning team, a 2nd line C on a mediocre to bad team. MB brought him in to be a 2 C which is setting him up for failure and he gave up futures to do so. Dvorak's career high in points is 4 more than Kotkaniemi scored as an 18 year old rookie that was the youngest player in the league. People need to stop lying to themselves about the type of player he is. He is by no means poop but he's also not a savoir at 2 C or even, frankly, a good option there. He was available all summer and no other team gave a (frank) to go get him and MB was forced to over pay for him as a result of this whole fiasco.
Seriously, of the people who have commented on Dvorak, the nut's description of the player is oddly the most honest and accurate. |

Well now I really, really hope I'm wrong about KK's potential.
Dvorak will do well in Montreal, probably won't be a star but he'll help for sure.
This summer could be another 2017.... |

Bull poop...not a single scout has anything negative to say about this guy....in fact some scouts even suggest that Dvorak as a 3rd C on a team is a Stanley Cup contender,.....he's a solid solid pickup...in excess of 51% in the face off circle, solid d guy..pivotal on the PP and will be a sure fire team guy on a team that's very tight...glass half empty.....go get a new glass already....and I'm not the biggest MB fanboy by any means...but well done Bergy. |

Sure, Dvorak as a 3C on a contending team, pretty much what I said. MB brought him in to be a 2C, that's the obvious problem. If a legitimate 25 year old 2C was on the market for a mid to late future 1st and a distant 2nd he'd have been traded for by another team long ago. This was a desperation move, fine, could be much worse, but to celebrate MB for anything is this fiasco is nonsense to me |

same here. Perry, Danault, KK, all guys that ideally I would've kept... not the best off season for the habs so far, but they still have interesting pieces on that roster, which is why I'm hoping MB still has a little trick up his sleeve to add to that, and start the season on a more positive note. |

I think Dvorak will do well in MTL likely 45-50 point guy and could be more depending on how he is used. He is no McDavid, Crosby or Eichel but this addition at least make us competitive to hopefully make the playoffs. Also I want to see how good Poehling can be as 3C |

Take a day off. You deserve it.
Not much. Having a coffee. Watching people overreact to all this. I did not see Dvorak play all that much, but knew he was an option for months. Going by stats, I think he will be fine as a 2C. Not a strong position for mtl, but I would argue that was the case last season as well. |
