a quick google search will show you that the immunity someone has from getting COVID is not as good as the immunity you get from the vaccine, meaning they want you to get the shot even if you had COVID. making sure we don't hurt some people's feely weelings doesn't help us get out of this. although i dont know if we ever do at this point

but on this topic, as usual, i am probably just pissing into the wind

I’ve read otherwise. From my understanding the vaccine does deliver more antibodies but natural immunity increases other areas of the immune system that the vaccine will not.

you're trying to negotiate with a virus

Just to be clear, what I’ve also seen is that a person who had COVID and also gets one dose of the vaccine is RIDICULOUSLY immune against it. More so than someone who didn’t have COVID and got 2 doses. I support the vaccine 100%. Just don’t think it should be forced on anyone who had it.

Done talking this now, sorry for the tangent. LGR.

Why did Drury give Reaves a one-year extension for his age-35 season?

"We just wanted him for another year. It's pretty simple. We think he's going to be good in our room and a valuable piece to what we're doing."

My buddy felt like crap over a weekend in February and recently got tested. His antibodies are still off the charts. Much higher than his counterpart that took the shot. I'll take natural immunity any day.

Brings some veteran leadership to the room. Having been in the finals is definitely a plus.

Said I was done, last thought, respectfully of course:

There’s a difference between saying “anyone who has natural antibodies shouldn’t need to get the vaccine”, and saying “anyone who hasn’t had COVID or the vaccine is better off getting COVID”. That’s a very dangerous differentiation. If you’re older, with pre-existing conditions… 100% get the vaccine. If you’re healthy and younger and haven’t had COVID, probably still get the vaccine. If you’ve had COVID, probably still get a dose or the vaccine, but you should be given that choice.

For him it was no worse than reported effects of the shot.

no one is forced to get the vaccine right now. There’s also no end in sight. Anyone eligible who hasn’t gotten the vaccine by now isn’t likely to choose to get it in the future. Those people impact everyone else, even the vaccinated

I’m just tired man. It would be nice to one day get back to normal but I don’t see it.

That’s not what the data suggests, putting aside the fact that getting the virus doesn’t only impact the person getting it. For you, this story about your friend (true or untrue, at this point I’m hearing it third hand) is further reinforcing your confirmation bias. Data and research is more reliable that a few anecdotes

I’m very much on your side. The divisiveness everywhere coupled with the isolation and fear in the world is destroying people who are already vulnerable with mental health issues/depression. That’s why I try to stay neutral. If you only listen to one side, some people stop thinking for themselves IMO. We need to listen to each other and sympathize with each other.

My buddy's test got him a waiver from getting the shot.
I don't want to get into this debate. It has become worse than a religion that neither side agrees on.

it's been weird to me that Trump was very pro-vaccine and was even stirring it up that he wanted to call it the Trump vaccine, but so many Trump supporters are anti-vaxx

and at the same time, they are very vocal that anyone who gets the vaccine is a goddamn pu$$y

I’m not talking about people who are exempt or ineligible for the vaccine for what it’s worth (most of the population is eligible). And the only “sides” are human and virus

I honestly believe that there are people "on the right" who want the virus to continue to be a pain in the ass for Biden because they believe Covid cost Trump the Presidency, they dont want Biden to have an easy time with this thing

There were people “on the right” who said the same about the “left” wanting it to continue to make voldemort look bad. Ultimately I’m too (frank)ing tired to sift through the needless nuances of the least nuanced thing in my lifetime anymore

Ugh never though of that, but that’s probably true. At the same time, there are extremists on both sides. Like those who celebrate when an anti-vaccine person dies from COVID. Look it up, there’s a group of hundreds of thousands of people.

Edit: it’s called The Herman Cain award. There’s a subreddit for the group.

literally the only thing I want is for hockey not to be effected

So you're saying that the vaccine is 100% safe right? ZERO chance of serious side effects or death? What if you're a six-months pregnant woman (or a pregnant man now that the libs that is a thing)... do you really want to take a chance that you and your baby will be fine after you get the vaccine? The same vaccine that has BARELY been tested for long term effects.
