I ask people, are you actually trying to focus in on the puck itself?! And find out that they do exactly that. They don’t try to follow every movement of the ball while watching any other sport, they watch who is holding it or what’s happening around it.
It REALLY helps to go see a live game or two for them to pick up more on the game, then it’s easier to follow on tv.

I can see it being confusing because due to the pace of the sport, if you don’t have a general idea of what that player may do with the puck before they do it, you can get stuck behind the play.

We went to a London Knights game and she liked it so I definitely agree with watching the game live.

Why is it an issue? the Sabres are almost uniquely positioned to hold out for the right offer. He wouldn't be playing either way and he's not losing value. There's no reason to rush into a deal. Everything is fine.

For a new or casual fan that only breeds more of staring at the puck sliding around the ice and missing/not understanding most of what is happening
That puck trail drove me nuts, lol, I found it distracting. The only time I liked it was when puck was out of sight up against the boards nearest the camera, and it would show where the puck was.
