You going to place yourself as CEO of revisionary standards? Please hand me the nife for the butter? You'd be drawn and quartered within a week's time. Although I must admit that some words are more than bizarre in their spelling.

I have had the same problems. Some service reps helpful, others meh. I'll call them shortly.

Up here in the Toronto area the cable company Rogers offers Center Ice only or a sports package that includes NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA plus OHL, WHL and QMJHL Canadian junior games. I pay about $300CDN a year for the package.

Not in the least. King’s English would use all the unnecessary u’s. The US spelling makes more sense. Now remove the “k” from knife, the “p” from pneumonia, the “c” from muscle and so on and we’ll call it President’s English or better American.

Nice of them to offer you a choice of options. I'd plunk down for some AHL action on my tv, truth be known. Thinking at first glance that the $300 for what they are offering, covers a lot. You've already lost your chairmanship, Mr. Centre Ice. The 4 Clydesdales currently grazing in your front yard, will not be taking any questions.

You know the long summer is about gone, when you bring up the topic of TIME OUTS.
Is my perception so skewed that I think Colliton employs them the least? My wife, elbows me hard throughout the season, enraged, "For Christ's sake, why doesn't he call a time-out?" I don't have a clear cut answer, as you are allowed just so many. But, "THEY DIED WITH THEIR BOOTS ON," seems to have taken a new meaning in Chicago hockey. Anyone else see this, or is it time to increase my medication dosage?

The 1st call I made yesterday, the customer service representative sounded as though she was under air attack in Istanbul. Purposefully made the interaction brief. Today, I spoke to a nice gal who was fluent in the kings' English, who assisted me fully. You may have to call a few times to get lucky. I mean no one any harm or slight in this depiction. Sometimes things are, what they are.

Looked up sold old notes from previous phone conversations with Directv. If you want to speak with an American, say "loyalty" at the beginning when prompted. I did that today and got through to a lady with a nice southern accent. I wouldn't say she had command of the King's English, but she was very helpful.

Anyway, success. I was informed, same as you, that this year' package is 59.95 or 3 installments at 19.95. 1st payment will be shown in the October statement.

Only thing I have seen is that camp will start "mid-September". Probably late next week.

I really think the Hawks are quietly trying to see which of the two they will trade, depending on return. Brett Connolly or Dylan Strome. I think the preference would be to make a deal but weighing the options. The fall back being to start day one of the season with a 20 man roster (which is allowed as the league minimum) and then call up Dach/Kurashev/Kalynuk and put Shaw on LTIR.

Here is my version of some "for fun" predictions.

Toews plays 75 games around the same pace he was at before illness netting 25 goals and 43 assists for 68 points.

Kane I'm going to predict 78 games - 80 points 23 goals and 57 assists. Basically, I find the more depth the Hawks have the less Kane scores because they don't lean on him as much.

Dach - Up and down season but the coach gives him more responsibility to play defensively as well as offensively. He notches 46 points playing in all 82 games.

Alex Nylander - Will have hot and cold streaks and inconsistent play. His numbers will look better than his value is perceived to the team and the Hawks trade him before December.

Kubalik is resigned but not until early 2022 as the season is winding down.

Tyler Johnson shines as he gets more responsibility with Chicago and quietly nets a 50 point season.

Ryan Carpenter plays most games on the 4th line, providing about what he has done with the Hawks to date. Brett Connolly plays the season in the AHL, after being sent down for cap reasons.

Hagel gets chances to play up and down the lineup netting 17 goals and 19 assists for a 36 point season. The value being his energy and scoring a few timely goals when the Hawks need to get on the board.

Reichel - Plays in the NHL, gets a call up but isn't ready yet as he is adjusting to North America hockey and NHL speed, so only plays 2-3 games as an injury fill rewarding him decent season with the IceHogs.

Kurashev takes a step forward with his knack for the net, getting 15 goals a providing some 3rd line offense.

Kalynuk battles with Stillman and C Jones for icetime in the third pair and shows he belongs in the NHL and maybe a future top 4 dman.

Seth Jones enjoys the change of scenery and continues to be a minute muncher and nets a lot of points on the PP.

Murphy continues to be solid and well rounded, missing a few games over the course of the year when he is banged up.

McCabe has a slow start coming back from knee injury but ultimately shows his defensive acumen is as good as advertised.

Calvin de Haan plays well in the second pair, but is ultimately injured again too often.

Subban plays well in camp and the Hawks carry 3 goalies to start the season.

Delia is sent to play in the AHL or lost to waivers.

Gonna also add Borgstrom comes in and plays decent but lacks the offensive punch of a top 9 C in the NHL.

Khaira does his job playing physical on the 4th line, but struggles enough that once the Hawks shorten the bench, he doesn't see much ice late in the game.

Debrincat comes in and steals the show offensively leading the Hawks in goals and points with 45 goal and 42 assists for a 87 point season.

MAF doesn't repeat his Vezina winning season but does live up to his name with 0.918 Sv% and 2.37 GGA

Adam Gaudette well, but it's a struggle to find him impactful minutes because of where he sits on the depth chart. He quietly contributes 9 goals and 9 assists over 65 games played.

Dylan Strome gets overshadowed with the Hawks other options at C and struggles offensively until he is traded in January after being a healthy scratch off and on. Fans are upset because Bowman didn't trade him sooner.

Here is my version of some "for fun" predictions.
- breadbag

I have always Toews and will not go contrary after I reported reported his subsequent incorrect diagnosis.

Kane I'm going to predict Kane gets hurt simply because he feels burden to do more.

Dach - Displays a veteran’s on ice knowledge with his defensive play and further hones his offensive attack skills (this for sure.)

Alex Nylander - Will wipe the inside of the diaper he has worn since expecting to walk into the bigs and be handed a top six wing position without sweat equity, and begins thinking about that he need to show he really does belong.

I don’t know Kubalik’s mindset, whether he loves Chicago, wants to stay or if he will choose a new home, but I think he has to play his best, score a lot and be an even bigger factor if he is seeing dollars signs…

Tyler Johnson shows little guys have been good attackers for awhile…until a big guy sends him to IR.

Ryan Carpenter plays if no one else fills that 4th line roll.

Brett Connolly wonders what he has to do besides score goals to play in the NHL, and then decides he just ride the contract out.

Hagel gets chances to play up and down the lineup and seems to be getting better and better.

Reichel - is rewarded with a few shifts with his idol, and he shows that a not so big, smart anticipating wall player with short area quickness can play in any league when supported by NHL type players. The comparison to Teravainen end quickly after he shows fearless along the wall, but if the hawks can’t tarde a forward he has to wait for his turn.

Kurashev has always be eager and assertive as an attacker whether at a wing or the pivot. The issue issue will be if the new improvements on defense will come with more help and improvement by him one on one.

Kalynuk battles with being pushed off pucks and continues to work on improve his all around game now that the departure of Boqvist might add some attack time his way if he fixes the other glitches.

Seth Jones continues to be a minute muncher and nets a lot of points on the PP and proves to the Blackhawk board that he wasn’t worthy of their pre-judgements on him, his salary, or what he does.

Murphy already did enough by signing for less than a king’s ransom.

McCabe shows his defensive acumen is as good as advertised, and besides if he doesn’t you will tell him so while at the Lawrence and Ravens wood Mariano’s, while he is shopping.

Calvin de Haan plays well as he did last year when he got trashed here. Now he has help.

Subban starts looking a houses in the Tempe area fir when the ‘notes claim him on waivers.

Delia is sent to play for Rochester in the AHL for that 5th rounder that Buffalo fan suggested,or lost to waivers.

Borgström comes in and a big lean long-armed machine can sit handle like a Savrad sized centre, but the Hawks want some goals not stick exhibitions.

Khaira is given a role and adds that extra dimension in the dot. He totally understand the logjam and knows what he needs to do.

Debrincat plays like bad ass with each shift and that we continue to see hit engage in return physical contact and look captain like in his approach and response to leading and winning/

MAF gives Lankanen and the Blackhawks enough of a cushion to stay in games longer than they have in seasons.

Adam Gaudette still feels he can be an NHL centre, and Dylan Strome let’s him join his club.

Dylan Strome plays to the level he has shown he can, and it will be alright…in fact the entire season for the team will be alright.

J Colliton knows his position is not in jeopardy for this season and the two new NHL defenders on the roster will make this much over talked "JC system" work pretty as it takes a roster full of good NHL players for any system to work....

You forgot about the coaching staff:

Colliton et.al will marry skaters to a system that works for the players he actually has on the ice - not those he wishes he has - on defense and the two special teams.

Or not.

Not being caustic, here. (Never played one game of hockey in my life). How talented must one be to implement a given system? Keith was a grizzled veteran, who time and again, was frequently in the wrong position, or so it seemed. I think a willingness to play the stated system, might be the key. The additional talent level is nice to have, but will it translate onto the ice? So many questions WILL get answered. Or not, like you say.

Playing a system, like playing good defense, requires hard work, smarts and like you said a willingness to play the said system. Contrary to what some have posted, you can’t teach talent. But systems and defense can be taught provided the player is willing to buy in and work at it. That’s why I’m impressed by ADB and Kubalik who added a defensive element to their game when they were already pretty good scorers.

* Jonathan Toews will play no more than 60 games this season but look great in the games where he does lace up the skates.

Skates 35 games and then decides its time to retire

* Kirby Dach will turn in a strong comeback season as an impact player in all zones picking up around 55 points (big points jump next year).

ends up being a taller Kruger

* Dylan Strome will get traded before the season starts for a 2nd rounder + prospect with a long shot for a 1st rounder.

I don't think you could give him away at this point. Best bet is to play him with Kane and hope he racks up some quick points and then move him when Toews makes his 35 game come back before retiring

* Alex Nylander will get traded by the trade deadline for the ever popular 3rd rounder.

Fades into obscurity

* Dominik Kubalik will be re-signed to a contract extension before calendar year 2022 begins.

If he's not a moron he doesn't sign any paper until the end of the year. Bangs in 27 goals playing 12mins \ night with no power play time and he goes somewhere else to play for a coach who knows how to use goalscorers

* Tyler Johnson will catch his second wind as a veteran offensive contributor in the 50-55 point range.

since he'll be the 1C this is probably on par

* Ryan Carpenter and Brett Connolly will surprise and play reasonably well as 4th liners.

Carpenter doesn't play in the first team and Connolly gets 2nd line minutes and is a 20\20 player

* Brandon Hagel will break out even more with a 20-goal, 45-point sophomore campaign.

injured in the preseason, separated shoulder

* Lukas Reichel will start with the IceHogs but earn a call up then never look back impressing out of the gate.

shows good enough in camp to play in the NHL, starts in Rockford because reasons, suffers two concussions early and Stan never mentions his name again

* Philipp Kurashev and Wyatt Kalynuk will be amongst the youngsters who make it really hard for the coaching staff to cut them.

Kalynuk traded because Jones demands to play with his bro. Kurashev begins his life as a NHL journeyman

* Seth Jones will resurge as a top all-around defender in the league to anchor the blueline.

65 points and a minus greater than 20

* Connor Murphy and Jake McCabe will form a formidable shutdown D pair.

since they're competent they'll only get 15 mins \ night

* Calvin de Haan will remain with the Hawks, stay healthy, and help to solidify the top 4 along with Jones, Murphy, and McCabe.

de Haan will play fewer games in a hawks jersey than Strome

* Malcolm Subban will be retained and risked to go through waivers if demoted to Rockford to serve as a much needed 3rd string.

True

* Collin Delia will get traded for a 5th rounder or later pick.

fade into obscurity

Playing a system mainly means knowing what to do / where to go when the system breaks down on a play, as it inevitably will.

Chicago has been very bad at that the past few seasons, I think - we see too much of those two-three skaters chasing the puck behind the net or to the boards while the slot is left uncovered.

It's smarts, work - and communications on the ice.

* Wyatt Kalynuk will be the best defenseman on the Blackhawks trending to be #1 defender.

* Seth Jones will start off hot, then suffer and a season ending injury which will hinder him the rest of his career. Will never see his former greatness with or without injury.

* Jake McCabe will not be wasted as just a shutdown dman. Will be coupled with Kalynuk.

* Coliton will be fired mid-season. Bowman will get one more shot at picking a coach. (Marco Sturm should be the call)
