Housley's defensive zone structure seemed like it was basically non existent. It was man-on-man which led to the infamous "spin cycle" defensive breakdowns - Hank Balling
are they starting a prospect camp next week or do they just wing it and go straight to that game next friday... - SabresFaninIndiana
I think the games are the only thing open to the public but I could be wrong. Pre-pandemic they had development camp earlier in the summer and then the prospect challenge later on

Think UPL plays atleast 40gms with Sabres - Buff36
Good. Been preaching this, kid is ready, needs a year to acclimate to speed before he will be a legitimate starter, but best to get that out of the way now.
Yeah I'll do some digging. I'm going to the Devils prospect game next Friday so I'll get a look at some of those guys.
Not having public development camp the past two years has sucked. I've never seen most of these guys in person - Hank Balling
The Sabres don’t need to see them in person to draft them but you need to see them in person to write about them? That’s just bush league. Re-up your live barn and video scout 3000 subscriptions…
"There was no sophomore jinx for Housley, as he improved to an incredible 31 goals and 77 points in season two. He did spend some time playing left wing however."

I trust Simonick and my memory more and common sense as well that Housley played center with his skating and skillset played center than along the boards in the 1982 NHL but believe what you want.

he played lw for the most part up front - homiedclown
You mean Rip Simonick and I will be wrong. Rip, the guy who was on the bench and talking to the players and coaches in the dressing room. You and the guy who started his own blog to write about the Sabres will trump him. Ok, if you want to believe that.

I'd say rsh could check out the Buffalo news, also known as a rag ☝️
Dude, I state a quote from a guy who worked for the Sabres for years and during that era and I get told "you will be wrong" I state I won't be wrong. why don't you "dude" that guy? You still seem to be holding a grudge for my challenge to your undying loyalty to Skinner last week. I mean I can be pretty piercing in my debating but I thought you had thicker skin than some, dude.

well, alrighty then...but i will point out that simonik mentioned "20 games" at center and if memory serves, thrill played a lot more than 20 games up-front...

I would think someone that has bert as his avatar would know housley played on his line
guess I gave you some credit, which is clearly a mistake
there was literally interviews out there when housley went in the hall where he mentioned his time as a rookie playing up front with gilbert - homiedclown
I'd love to see the full quote because it sounds more like I had a chance to play with Gil Perreault
Now, I am sure Jim Kelly said I had a chance to play with Bruce Smith around his HOF induction but he didn't line up on the Dline. I hope this wasn't too defensive or offensive but just right for the gracious tone of this board.
