Thanks Homie. Anyone who wants to try and say that wasn't the expectation around here is full of poop. Lets go back to the archives and see what was said the night of 4/28/18. He isn't meeting expectations plain and simple. Those that were pushing the narrative need to own it and not come on here and tell us generational wasn't the expectation THEY SET. - Hatboro_Swords

Very much agree
High expectations not met, or even close - Boss34
The kid is only 21 and after his first two years he put up point totals that were historic for someone of that age in that position. What more did you want? He had a rough couple of months under Ralph and then looked very good again.
Let dalhin grow then talk sh!t!! What were you at 21 ? Just a bunch of a bags!! Just figured out who you might want to be and most of you turned into the want to he’s!! Never cut the apron Stings!!

There's probably 600+ nhl skaters in the nhl
Dahlin a -36 last season
-6 more than any other nhl.player
-9 more than any nhl defenseman
This is very inexcusable. If you're slightly looking at this stat, its really really bad.
He was bad with the eye test last season, coming off 2 "historic" seasons.
He coughed up the puck constantly, didn't show much defensive awareness and certainly didnt take a step forward. Sideways even, it went backwards.
He had a bad season. 21 years old , but his 3rd nhl season. Not all Ralph's fault.
As many know it all’s on this site!! 77 36 homie and so on I put out an opportunity to state something and no one answers!! Thanks for the time sorry I’m not part of the click !! Francis was right about this blog!! Thanks for the time and no answers

I normally just read the blog and comments and keep to myself. In this case I will make an exception. You suck. Just leave and do everyone a favor.

I'd love for Dahlin to be an all time great. - Boss34
You're cherry-picking through his career to find a bad stretch (albeit a very bad stretch). Again, the entire team looked like dog meat. With the exception of 23 everyone looked terrible for long stretches of the season. And then it lifted. So yeah, he was awful for 40 games and then he (and everyone else) righted the ship. I don't know why people love to fixate on the Ralph stank.

Excellent post. Historic. He was nowhere near Phyllis Housley's numbers.
Housley 1st 2 years:
G 19 A47 P66
G31 A46 P77
Dahlin 1st 2 years:
G 9 A35 P44
G4 A36 P40
Housley scored more goals in his 1st year than Dahlin has in his career. Rsh, i understand it is a different era they are playing in and that is a valid point, but to come here and say what he has done so far is historic because it is the 2nd most points as a teenager, i can't go for that. No, no, no can do. A young buck that is truly generational will come along in the next few years and blow the doors off Dahlin's numbers. Glad he is a distant 2nd. Housley lapped him. Congrats. Also, I'm sorry I'm a caveman who firmly believes that goals win games. Will be awesome if Dahlin lives up to the generational hype, but it hasn't happened yet. There isn't anything wrong with admitting that. It is wrong to try and spin what he has done to date as being historic and meeting the highly touted expectations because you're a fan and in denial.
I never understood why he was garnering the generational hype. He didn't have any lofty numbers pre NHL. He played in the SHL with grown ass men. Big deal, those grown ass men weren't good enough to make it in the NHL. You want to think the kid that scores 8-10 goals in the SHL is going to be great in the NHL, fine. I'll put my money on the kid that scores 50 in the CHL.
Other than that, what the mother (frank). I thought I should be looking forward to when my wife gets to menopause like retiring from work. You mean to tell me it is worse than PMS? FML

Housely played a lot of center in that 31 goal year but Dahlin is nowhere near him right now in goal scoring from D either or rushing the puck.

But that's the thing - Housley was historic in terms of his goal scoring (while also being awful defensively). The fact that Dahlin doesn't measure up to that stick is irrelevant. He still had two seasons that are historic for a teenager.

-56 for his career
ok, so I'm not cherry picking . Please defend this as good, kinda good. Not generational 🤔
Too lazy to look up -56 over the past 3 years.
My guess - not good.
Not sure if I saw enough under donnie to negate the first 40 games. Wishful thinking most likely and some new confidence.
He barely beat out risto.... the final 15 games.....

He should be compared with Makar, Miro Heiskanen, Quinn Hughes, and those types.

Beat our Risto for what?
Donnie came in and it took him a few weeks to get guys in shape and to create a team structure. Dahlin was playing top-line minutes over the last 22 games and was a -3 in that time. Before that? He was a -33. So the kid actually took on a much bigger role under a real coach and he responded by looking like himself. Lets not over-think what happened before that as it was a train wreck like we've never seen before.
