What would you say is your best fantasy football starting roster? - Hatboro_Swords
I know this is meant to be a jab but I will answer it
any lineup where I punt on wr2 until the 7th or 8th round

12 team league a 500 buy in league ppr
picked 8th
allen qb
n harris rb
sanders rb
d adams wr
c davis wr
pitts te
edmunds rb as flex
bench guys
qb burrow
rbs carter, fournette
wr's fuller, mooney, st brown, ruggs
te everrett
st brown gets cut after week 2 if he does nothing and replaced with a backup on a decent running team in case starter goes down (malcom brown or jones jr)
my guess is that is the strongest of my 8 teams

Dahlin is now the #1 D playing against the big boys. He did at the end of last year and looked good. I'd say they are off, especially when you consider there isn't anyone to shelter him. - Slump Buster
A two year deal would allow for a full season in that role and give both sides a good idea as to how they should proceed. Next off season they can start work on an extension beneficial to both sides |

How bout that, I never knew Housley played center. Been wanting Dahlin to play center for years. - Hatboro_Swords

He played on the wing, i believe - Michael Pachla
"He was a guy that could get a lot of points,” Simonick said. “He played defense most of the time, but there was a couple records – you know Scotty knows all about the records. He let Phil play center for maybe 20 games and he ended up getting more goals than any other rookie defenseman and more points.”

There are alot of websites that can provide information you may be looking for...
1) Google...seriously, not a joke...ask the question, it provides answers to these types of basic info requests
2) Sabres.com...another site that provides alot of info about the organization
3) Www.hockey-reference.com..this is a great "go to" site as it gives great statistical information on teams and individual players...over many season as well
4) www.CapFriendly.com ... another "go to" site for team's Cap situation and by player...provides excellent Contract data as well...so much useful info here...well worth it to sniff around the various tabs to see what is there...like What players are on which lines playing which position ... great stuff.
There are more

So, the group is pretty educated, uses alot of this info., and has opinions that differ from each other. Makes it interesting.
Or, one can use fantasy hockey magazines to from opinions as well!

No way I dispute Simonik, who's one of my all time favorites in the Sabres org. But I will say that I remember Thrill playing a lot more up-front and most of it was on the wing. |

"There was no sophomore jinx for Housley, as he improved to an incredible 31 goals and 77 points in season two. He did spend some time playing left wing however."

Be huge for the Organization if this kid was ready to go. - Buff36
I still think I want to see UPL in Rochester. Call up duty as needed. I am sure Anderson is going to want to hit the Denny’s early bird special a few times in the season.
I want to see UPL with big minutes and winning in Rochester. Not scrambling for his life in the 2021-2022 Release of…
Tank IV: When you thought they couldn’t tank no more
Which does beg the question. How is Rochester going to look this year? I know most of the kids will be up here. But guys like Petrika, Quinn, Samuelson or Bryson, could make Rochester interesting.
Hank, just curious, will we see a Rochester write up? Not as in depth as the Sabres by player. But who’s heading to Rochester and what the team might look like? |

bert and mccourt were the top 2 centers
for a minute you had the rookie line of andreychuk and cyr playing wing for mal davis
savard anchored the 3rd line
peterson was the fill in center
sprinkle in a little mckenna and jf sauve
https://www.hockey-refere...e.com/teams/BUF/1983.html
a lot of the shifts were phil on lw with foligno on rw with bert in the middle

Thrill was so bad at defense those early years, yet so dynamic offensively, that Scotty had to keep him on the ice and he did so by using him as a forward.
Edit: and to take it a step further, is it any wonder Phil let Dahlin roam free as a rookie? |

Yeah I'll do some digging. I'm going to the Devils prospect game next Friday so I'll get a look at some of those guys.
Not having public development camp the past two years has sucked. I've never seen most of these guys in person |

Housley's defensive zone structure seemed like it was basically non existent. It was man-on-man which led to the infamous "spin cycle" defensive breakdowns |
