Ya again at the top where usage and GAR are both in that top percentile, that is the most elite players - neem55
i honestly dont even pay attention to GAR. I think its sort of silly and truly doesn't paint a true picture. Usage just helps depict GAR better as it allows people to understand how often they are used relative to how often they product or don't produce. Add quality of competition as a 3rd column and things start to get a bit clearer.
So it’s a pile of crap/ thanks for interpreting it - CanuckDon
its not really something that I really care for to be honest. GAR in hockey seems silly if that is the only thing you are looking at.
However, my point was, is that people shouldnt look at a chart, see the ascending or descending order of a list and use that to interpret who is better/worse lol.
Its not hard to take an extra second and decipher the context of the chart instead of screaming "analytics and charts blow cause Derek Ryan is higher than Bo" lol
That is not how this data chart should be interpreted here, usage is also key to understanding GAR. The takeaway is Ryan is a great GAR player in a bottom 6 role. That doesn’t infer in a top6 role he would have the same GAR. Therefore comparison to players with way more usage is irrelevant. - neem55
Isn't that what Steve the Pirate from "Dodgeball" said?

Nucker gets excited. But he isn’t wrong that is a worthless chart

who needs context when it's easier to just blame the media/source?

Hello guys
Couple months ago i asked some people who live on the island some question about minor hockey(just moved on the island in july). Now i want to know where is the best store to buy hockey equipement for kid. - Yannick72
Hey Yannik, the “Best” store is Kirby’s on Cloverdale near Mayfair Mall. They have the best, most knowledgeable staff, the best selection of Hockey, Baseball and Lacrosse gear and fair prices. BUT, you might want to get on the Facebook Marketplace, VarageSale or UsedVictoria to get a better price, depending on your child’s age and level of play (and you’re budget). I always bought my son new helmet and new skates when he needed but used pads as kids not to be as hard on their gear as adults.
We used to have a great store downtown that had new and used gear but they went out of business a few years ago.
