No his full recovery is 6 weeks, starting now.
- 668710

Yes...so he'll miss all of training camp, all preseason, and the beginning of the regular season. In other words, everything that happens over the next 6+ weeks.

I thought when the other guy said " miss a couple of weeks" he meant regular season games.

The McCann trade looks even worse as we go, they knew that this may be a possibility. Couldn't they have just enticed Seattle to take Tanev. They didn't even pick McCann off Toronto lol.

That's like saying winning President's Trophies are more important/impressive than winning Stanley Cups!

Except, the Flyers have NEVER won the President's Trophy!!!

Unfortunate news about Sid, but in the long run it is a good thing. I expect he tried to work through it in the offseason without surgery and he just didn't make the progress he wanted. A little shorter season wouldnt be a bad thing for him (hopefully he skips the Olympics).

On another note, I read a Brian Burke interview yesterday where he talked about the Carolina/Montreal offer sheet situation... his comments were about the complete opposite of what I thought he would say. To sum it up, said it was an interesting situation with those two teams and basically they both ended up getting what they wanted. Was pissed he got screwed on the Penner one and only believes you should offer sheet if you know you will get the guy and you have exhausted all options.

Interestingly he said that he told Boston he was going to offer sheet Kessel if they didnt Boston wouldnt trade him. Eventually Boston ended up just trading him.

He is absolutely not against offer sheeting someone. In fact, just the way he was talking about it made it sound like that is going to be the path to remaining good in the last few years of Sid's career. *just the impression I got, nothing close to asserted*

haha I said here a few days ago why not get a F load of PTO's on the go. One or two might stick. Like having a lot of draft picks, it ups your chances of hitting an NHL regular. Pens prospect pool is so thin that there doesn't seem like there will be much competition coming from there for roster spots. So why not...unless there's a limit on number of PTO's you can have, that is...

The Philly guys have a strange humor... Flyers have gone 16,844 days since winning their last Stanley Cup. The Tampa Bay Lightning have existed for 10,501 days and have won 3...

Now provide the number of #1 overall picks for all the teams involved...kind of makes a difference.

Sports are a perfect storm. It's not like Philly hasn't had their share of superstars. Some organization just drop the ball in how to construct better teams.

For years Philly chose to go with goons over better players and limp in with finding goalies or just make bad decisions regarding goalies in general.

The era is ending, so the Pens are an easy target now.

With both Sid and Geno out just maybe the plan is to tank this season and try to get the number one overall pick next year I hear the draft is very deep. Is there another Cros or Malk available The devious plan is now in play. Bring on the conspiracy theories. I can't wait

It is getting to be about that time that the Penguins get a new Generational Canadian Centreman. Incoming Shane Wright!

Thats very true. I will say however, its kind of satisfying to see just how much the Pens are in their heads hahaha

What is the over/under on the Penguins finishing bottom 10 and winning the lotto in either of the next two seasons?

Oh, I'm savoring it. I said earlier teams that don't matter don't get this kind of hate. Rent free, baby!

In some ways the Pens are like the Yankees of the NHL.

They've had some amazing rosters over the years and goaltending ended up being the Achilles heel.

Yeah but TO has only ever had one 1st overall pick in their history and has only picked in the top 5 like 5 times in the past 30 years haha.

Of those 5 times you have Matthews, Marner and Rielly

EDIT: sorry, Wendel Clark was drafted 1st overall in 1985

I'll take our winning history, never tanking to get a top player, never having to be financially bailed out and on the brink changing cities any day of the week my friend. Top 3 all time in win percentage and that's counting Vegas's short tenure.
