Thanks Bill….great stuff. Paul was under rated as a player “tough guy” who could score and was given the job of patriarch of the flyers, bestowed from Ed Snider. I think doing the best he could while trying to keep all parties happy.

Holmgren is a great Flyer. Honest, tough as nails player. Old school. He has been so loyal to this team it really should be a no brainer to put him in the Flyers HOF. I read the list last week, and as a long time fan can’t think of one guy on the list not deserving, least of all Homer. Couldn’t help but notice the knee scars in his family photo, man things have come a long way. Talk about a guy you would want on your team.
Holmgren and the copper all were a sight to see... Injuries killed his career. He could throw with the best of them. To bad the flyers of today are soft as butter.

Love his shot release. Love his ability to work hard. His puck handling looks like it might be a concern. Didn’t look smooth. Overall, he looks like a keeper.

Puck skills seemed fine in the games last year. He’s gonna be a good one.
Also man could the flyers use a Holmgren right now. Ever since Simmonds started to go downhill we have had a gaping hole on the wing.

Yup, no one thinks he’s going to be Patrick Kane. He even says to Stewie about chipping pucks in he learned that quick, he knows he’s not going to be doing much stick handling. Shoot the puck and forecheck hard.

Must fill that hole at trade deadline if they're going to make a run in the playoffs. Someone with size, GRIT and some ability to help offensively on the wing.

That's why, ultimately, I'd like to see him on a line with Morgan Frost. Frost is the stickhandler and playmaker, Allison the guy who wins battles on the forecheck and has the overpowering shot. Get a two-way LW on the other side, and I think it'd be an effective line.

like that, maybe a Laughton. Laughton could interchange with LW and Center and plays a good two way game. 3 players and all skate pretty well.

Yea everyone fills a role, I’d like to see that as well. You’d think it would probably be next season or at the earliest mid season this year. I don’t see Frost on the fourth line and for this to happen you’d have to put guys like Laughton/Lindblom both on the fourth line. Injuries always can happen too. Something to look forward to though! I think we have a very deep forward group and if those young guys really step up we could have one of the best groups lines 1-4.

Lindblom sounds like he would be the perfect fit for that line...

do you trust the coaching staff to do this or even try it? I do not at least to start as frost will be in the ahl imo
I think that line is more likely next year, or at best later this year after a few injury shake ups.

I like LIndblom on any line, I am hopeful he is fully back this season. If he is, then he is a good fit there. I do prefer someone on that line with a little more speed.
Yay for Holmgren! Well deserved. Even sweeter that the USHHOF is located in the town I grew up in.
Taking Bill’s statement a little further, both Paul and his brother Mark were well known stud athletes in St. Paul. Both have been inducted into the Harding High School HOF.
The story goes that most of the community knew the brothers due to their athletic prowess. They were a year apart and people had difficulty telling the two apart. One day some folks in the neighborhood were discussing just that. One of the moms piped up, “ Oh it’s easy! Paul’s the pretty one.”

Scott Laughton should be on the lw of that line.
Or maybe even g. Take face offs. Not sure if his wheels would keep up but then bee and jvr in too 6. Scott centers 4 th with brassard and Oscar.

Offense shouldn't be an issue with the Flyers. They have a potential to have 7 20+ goal scorers. They're set on the wing.

I am curious what Arizona if interested would include with crouse to get Oscar. My willingness would depend on return.
