Yeah, O'Dog had it right, the Leaf fan butthurt obsession with Marner is played out. He didn't have a great playoff, the Leafs lost, he took heat, get over it. He's a phenom and will rip it up next season.

This isn't "butthurt" obsession, this is calling a spade a spade. He has been poop in the playoffs for literally years now.

He's a wonderful regular season player. He's also inexplicably the highest paid RW in hockey and signed that deal before winning anything significant. We're still waiting for him to win something significant.

I'm willing to dish out heat to other players but Marner earns 13.4% of the cap so he gets to have substantially more criticism thrown at him than, say, Travis Dermott.

Maybe this will be the year he puts it all together? I'm not holding my breath but, if we're keeping him, I genuinely hope he makes me - and others who have complained (I think fairly) - eat serious crow.
