Somw duud called it last time you posted an update on eichel. Last time was about how the rangers are puahing and the other teams needta stwp up their offer. He called that youd switch to Kings before going to Vegas and starting cycle again. Funny how you have the insights about these 3 teams and their ramping up of offerings and noone else. |

That doesnt even open conversation. lol. and basically my point. Vegas has no system depth for trades anymore. Buffalo isnt gonna want all these roster players. They want potential. |

Or cap space. Smith, Patrick and picks for Eichel adds $5m to their cap. They currently have $0 space. This makes no sense to me. |

Really, there is nobody that is worth a ship on the Kings that would even go to Buffalo. The Sabres would not trade with them. These stories get more and more far-fetched by the day. - FireRuff
Rosters for most teams are now set and few have the flexibility to make room for Eichel's AAV (let alone the capital to make a move). ~10 teams are over the cap right now. Those that aren't getting LTIR help are looking to move bodies on the cheap.
With this background, the Sabres would probably trade with any team that could offer up a combination of 1st(s), prospects, and/or a young roster or two. So, in other words,
Beggars can't be choosers, and whatnot... |

Let's hear what they have to offer... Would prefer Eichel land out West. The only issue I have with this is including Hagg. HE'S ONE OF THE FEW SABRES WITH TOUGHNESS and I would prefer we keep him.
By the way, if you post a comment and all you have is to negatively critique Eklund's posts, why bother? Just leave the site. I suspect you don't get enough sex. Fools. Too many haters out there that need to get a life. I'm sick of your negative posts.... Just go away.

I continue to offer Gibson for JE. With some ancillary pieces and or picks thrown in.
The Sabres get a # 1 goalie and save 3.5 mil a yr still in his prime to make up for the age difference perhaps Ducks put Giroulx in ??? A nice and upcoming C prospect.- Ducks get a # 1 C if he's healthy and both clubs get cost and contract certainty...

An still injured, disgruntled Eichel is still not worth as much as the Sabre's would like you think. Rebuilding teams should steer clear as they don't want to do what the Leafs did when they signed Tavaras for a crazy amount only to have their young player wanting the same type of contract. |

I'd like to suggest the most obvious scenario...Eichel stays in Buffalo. Prove that he's healthy and revisit a trade later. I'm sure his new agent advised him to be quiet, get healthy, play good hockey, and we'll work on a trade later. Most teams don't have any cap space anyway. |

Yeah, no one is going to pay anything close to what they are asking for a damaged Eichel, not to mention that he seems to be a whiny baby causing troubles in the locker room.

Time will tell. The Sabre's don't have to move Eichel anytime soon. If it does happen it will be to the Sabre's liking. Still say Byfield or Turcotte, Valardi, Bjornfot Kaliyev and a 1st for Eichel. They get the best proven player by far and are still set with prospects. But if Eichel isn't moved between now and the start of training camp. He will be moved at the trade deadline or draft. So many think a trade has to happen now, Nope it does not. |

As a Kings fan that trade with Turcotte instead of Byfield works but I just don't think we need a center even of Eichel's ability as without Doughty or Kopitar leaving I don't think we can add another 9,000,000 plus contract. With all prospects going the other way there is very little salary leaving LA and although I'm just an idiot fan I'd rather make a big move on the heir apparent to Doughty instead. We have pretty good center depth and although Eichel would be our best center if he came here I'd rather see what Byfield and or Turcotte can do first before we bring in another center. |

If I'm the Kings or any other team for that matter I wait until after the surgery and take it from there as at least then the Kings have somewhat of an idea of where Byfield and Turcotte are in their development and how Eichel's recuperatiion is moving along or isn't.
I honestly think the Sabres are in a barrel here as everyone knows Eichel wants out and although he'll fetch a nice return either way with so few teams having the cap and prospects to do this deal there is a very limited market for him. Really only the Kings,Rangers and Senators have the prospects the Sabres need without ruining their farm system. Oddly the Kings almost have too many prospects, I mean they all can't make the team in the next year or so but center is their strongest position depth wise so although I'm sure the'd like Eichel they don't necessarily need him. |

No interest in trading Dahlin. We're already sending the best player in the deal. Why send arguably the second at this current juncture, too?

The cap is a non-issue. The Sabres HAVE to take back money at least equal to Eichel's contract just to hit the cap floor. So it should end up being a money in - money out deal. Teams should be happy to dump a bad contract for a year or two.

Eichel, 2nd overall pick, 24, $10M salary, questionable health, club control 5 years.
Byfield, 2nd overall pick, 19, $900,000-ish salary?, good health, club control 8 or 9 years.
Eichel leader on really crappy team.
Byfield, not sure of yet.
Eichel,2020-2021, 21 games due to injury, 2 goals 16 assists.
Byfield played in AHL, normally would have been force to JRs. 8 G, 12 A. NHL, 6 games with 3rd and 4th liners, 1 assist.
If I am LA and this deal goes down, it will take a lot more than Eichel to get Byfield. Not the other way around. |

I moved to the Tampa area 6 months ago. I have been in Az for the last 15 years. Always been a Kings fan. Didn't root for Tampa until the final and only then because it was Mtl they were playing. That said, if the Kings made that trade, I would start rooting for Tampa or Panthers. It would be REALLY stupid to make that trade.
What nobody seems to keep in mind is that Buffalo is the one over the barrel. So, team taking Eichel will have to be the clear winner or there will be no deal. |

How can a deal be in the works and then you post in puts pressure on vegas.
So its not really a deal in the works then its just rumor.
Your logic is appalling. If a deal is in works then it puts pressure on Vegas to put that much more effort to beat the Kings package. |
