Thanks Carol
I had a lot of doubts about his mental toughness coming out of Utica. I am glad he proved me wrong. It is nice to see a player develop as he should . |

Demko has been remarkably drama free.
Which is refreshing. |

Thanks Carol! I thought Demko was one of Eks most glaring omissions from the US olympics roster, i think its him and Gibson vying for starts. Ive always liked Halak, another small guy for everyone to cry about! |

You sure do a lot of crying about other commenters wanting different types of players than the ones you like. |

I was always in Demko’s corner, kid just needed a shot and some skills coaching because he certainly always had the raw physical tools. |

What’s the over under for starts that Demko gets in a full season? |

Thanks Carol, Demmer’s a beauty. Gibson isn’t really competition for the net internationally anymore, but if team USA gives Demko a game he won’t come out.
@VANTEL agree (sort of) with your long term deal warnings, but I think Eichle as an example is rare, and OEL had a 6 year bridge and then the massive 8 year deal. I don’t think you would be considering moving on from Petey during this contract no matter the length, unless something terrible had happened. |

Demko 65, DiPietro 8 and Halak 9. Halak will get injured early in the season. |

Sometimes it is the player that wants to move on like Eichel . We don't know how true the rumblings are about McDavid or Doughty maybe wanting out . Seems like a lot of top players are just as impatient as the fans at times.
My caution is the flat cap era. If the cap is jumping up every year by three mil then mistakes can be covered up . Moving up 1 mil in four years leaves little room for error. I think a lot of teams can be making some big mistakes.

I don’t know much about the CBA but what about a negative cap increase, or does the escrow just keep offsetting it? |

It’s all about division of revenue. Escrow is simply a mechanism for owners to claw back money if the total revenue doesn’t cover player salaries (50%). This way players can still sign their 8 year $60m deals and as long as GM’s fit everyone under the cap everyone is happy. If revenues are low, players get dinged, if revenues are high, the salary cap goes up. |
