Excellent blog Hank:
Although I've somewhat compared great28 and cozensons in the past.....
I'm worried about Dylan's actual goal.scoring ability. He has all the intangibles to be a well respected teammate and fan favorite..
The goal thing though...
Very girggie outlook, especially during ted 2 / tank2
Similar players, so far - Boss34
Yep. There's a huge range of possible outcomes for Cozens offensively and even positionally |

Then the second part of that is, I think the Sabres shy away from taking a goalie cap dump like Quick. The money makes sense, but Kyvyn wants UPL to play a lot of games this year. Hank hates it, sorry bud. Having Quick and Anderson would greatly obstruct UPLs playing time, and I can tell you with near certainty that KA doesn't want that. If they went that route, they'd have to negotiate a place to play for Anderson. They brought him here to play a few games, but to mainly mentor UPL. It's literally part of his job description. Which, to me, makes the most sense to take Brown back. Iafallo likely has more value, which damages the return for what you're actually looking for. Plus LA just signed him. |

So, ignoring the question of whether we should send athletes to Chinese Olympic Games, who will be the US goalies? Hellebuyck and Gibson? Demko? |

It's why Quick makes a lot of sense.
He only has 2 years left on his deal and he's only owed $5.5M combined in actual salary this season and next while his cap hit is nearly $6M. Plus, he has no trade clauses to worry about, and he's not very good either which won't impact the tank. - kingcong39
See the above.

So they won't take Quick due to banking on a bad plan?
Sounds on brand for the Sabres. |

you may literally be right. but for the amount staal was playing, he was about as damaging as Eakin was. minute for minute, eakin was the worst. |

If they're really set on playing UPL for whatever reason, then just ship them Anderson.
Or acquire Quick and waive him. |

Devil's need a pure goal scorer and sniper both on the PP and 5v5 as I think it would do wonders for Hughes to have someone being able to put the puck in the net, devil's have playmakers but no one who really finishes
Problem is the devil's wouldn't really have anyone to stick up for their teammates in a fight other than graves and I guess you can include McLeod
If the devil's had others with a physical game I would be more interested
And holtz very well could be that guy on the PP soon - dmarsden2988
Yeah, I know a deal doesn’t really fit, but I want it to… lol

Bad optics. You don't sign a UFA and trade him before the season. And waiving Quick doesn't really do anything. He's not going to play in Rochester. And if he gets picked up, now you're under the floor again.

You need to remember that they literally give no (frank)s about where they end up this season.

What does the above statement have to do with taking Quick back in an Eichel trade helping enhance the return by making the cap work for both parties. |

LA needs to dump and Sabres need to acquire. Whether that comes in the form of Brown of Quick I think hardly matters. Now, if Anderson agrees to go to LA, that's a game changer. But you're not sending him without his blessing.

Probably right. I don't see it as conceivable to have him actually play in Rochester though.

It does seem to matter as you're saying they won't take Quick back due to wanting UPL to play a ton.
I'd call that idea shortsighted for multiple reasons. |

What about Quick's absolute hatred towards anyone and anything that moves him from the la kings to the buffalo Sabres.
It's the same mistake the Sabres keep making.
Adding cap dump losers that bring the young Sabres down with them.
Just eat some of eichels contract. ☝️
Yes , I get the cap dump.math for our floor, the "we'll be ready to compete when his cap is up"
Just eat years 3, 4 and 5 . 3 million per.
Sabres have only skimmer deal to worry about.
It's perfect franchise timing to get a really good nhl 1c prospect for eichel. The cap goes up, we have a very young cost controlled team....
Byfield+ for 3 million maintained
No byfield no retined salary. |

That's the problem with some posters. They can't see thru tank4.
Why would the Sabres do this , why no good goalie?
They are not trying to win and ruin their draft position. ☝️
Upl is the perfect goalie for 2021-22.
Plays good = we have a starter
Plays bad = we have a top pick
If his feelings get crushed by the Sabres terrible team this season, so be it..
2017 draft pick
#5 goalie prospect
Sabres have a 40 yard old and a 2 way contract goalie.
This is gonna be upl sink or swim

I don't see how it's short sighted. They want UPL here. That's a fact. They signed Anderson to mentor him. That's a fact. Bringing Quick here flies in the face of what their stated plan is.
LA would need a backup goalie. If Anderson agrees to go to LA, it opens up a scenario to take Quick back. OR. Have a three way trade with Quick included to bring back an an expensive skater.
I just don't see a likely scenario that has Quick and Anderson as the full time starters, or UPL and Quick as the fulltime starters. |
