Matthews family is where he spends his off seasons… if he truly loved it here why doesn’t he hang out at all during the off season? - Dozzer
you could say that about half of NHL players who come back to Canada and spend their summers in Muskoka. If they truly loved it in their american city, why do they come back here for the summer?

Pretty much everyone who has a job that requires travel goes home for their off days.
I worked 6 months in Bermuda and still came home for my week off every single opportunity.
It's not like all of his family and friends moved to Toronto when he was drafted there...

Fat Bottomed Girls was always one of my favorites - bixll
When I had my ankle operated on and was rolled up to just outside the operating room, that song was blaring out from inside. Queen music kept playing until I went under. I felt better about the operation. Can’t walk, but what the (frank).

The Blue Jays have 36 HR and are batting .331 in 13 games in September. They are the first team in modern MLB history to hit 36+ HR and bat .330 or better over any 13-game span.

I miss the old Maple Leaf Gardens ticket stubs. - Atomic Wedgie
Those were the days.
When we were kids we could sneak into Rough Rider games using old tickets with glued together and holes where the perforated part was punched with a pin and our thumbs over the old date. 50/50 shot of working. Massing for a run and climb at a fence and then run and scatter worked pretty well. We usually got a good cheer from the crowd.

There's a Toronto Board of Education school literally across the street from Maple Leafs Gardens.
My father was a principal (not of that school, but for the same board) - so he had a universal key for all TBE parking lots (they would chain it), as well as a parking sticker on the car window.
It was a little joke amongst principals - they would all park there.
I used to go down with my buddies in high school on weeknights. You could park for free, and get tickets from scalpers for face value - $7 for greys.
You had to watch dreadful Leafs teams, but it was still fun.
