Realistically, who is there to lock up? He’s been negotiating with Rielly but I don’t see the numbers working. He’s not going to waste time on Mik and my guess is that they’re planning on keeping one of the two goalies so it’s early on Jack. Even if they plan on keeping both I wouldn’t want to make a long term decision based on 29 games.

We were talking about Dubas historically, not now. "In hindsight" he should have locked up Willie and Marner as soon as they could (ie. the summer before they became RFA's).

The opportunity to sign young RFA's 1 year prior to them becoming RFA's is something that Dubas has not yet taking advantage of. He's preferred to balk at their requests and take the risk that they go out and increase their value. So far it's worked out for all of the young guys.

Again, I know it takes two to tango but the reports from the talking heads suggest the numbers would have been lower had he acquiesced to their demands in the prior summers.

On a more serious note, did you fellas read there was a murder on the University of Western Ontario campus?

I know a few of you guys are from the London area.

I can't imagine how scary this would be for the kids going there - I think I read the woman was a first year student.

Haven’t seen anything definitive but likely. It all happened (rapes) on campus during orientation and the Uni said they helped facilitate the investigation. The online messaging about the 30 in total was pretty horrific: girls roofied and dragged outside.

I’m not sure if the guy arrested for murder was a student. He was described as 21 and from London, so maybe not.

It only states the 18 year old was assaulted and died as a result but apparently it was an horrific scene with blood everywhere. Nothing provided as to what killed him..knife etc. Why the hell are the papers labelling this as an "assault"? Sounds like murder to me.
