Only the non vaccinated ones won’t get paid. And they will be forced to sit out due to the fact they can’t do everything the team requires which gets them suspended.

Even the NHLPA is in on this, if it’s not official yet it will be very shortly.

I think this is good personally. Not due to the healthcare but because if the league is requiring all other team employees, arena employees, and in some cities the fans to even enter the arena then the players and coaches need to have it to. Otherwise it would cause some fairly massive complaints.

There's a Toronto Board of Education school literally across the street from Maple Leafs Gardens.

My father was a principal (not of that school, but for the same board) - so he had a universal key for all TBE parking lots (they would chain it), as well as a parking sticker on the car window.

It was a little joke amongst principals - they would all park there.

I used to go down with my buddies in high school on weeknights. You could park for free, and get tickets from scalpers for face value - $7 for greys.

You had to watch dreadful Leafs teams, but it was still fun.

Someone was telling me the rules to get into Rogers Centre was either proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID test. Made me wonder - how long ago does this test have to be? A lot can happen between the time I took the test and the time I got the results and the time I showed up at the game.

It's crazy, too. I've had two tests, and I wouldn't want to do that on a regular basis.

Those were the old days - before the concert industry got really dirty with companies like ticketmaster (or the original CPI - Concert Productions International owned by Bill Ballard). If you lined up - were the first in line, you had the chance to buy the best seats in the house. Between greedy promoters and bands and VIP tickets where they justify prices with good seats and a cracker jack toy, it's just not the same. Still amazes me that a front row seat to a top concert was less than $10 - no fees, no bullsh!t

I don't think it is fear of needles, rather, someone has convince them, or they have convinced themselves that the vaccine is unsafe, unproven or will cause them harm at some point.

I’m sure there’s a mix of of things at play for different people but at some point it comes down to deciding who you’re going to believe. There’s a world of government, mainstream media and science saying it is safe and that you’re in jeopardy if you don’t get your jabs.

There’s a world that includes Fox News (all vaccinated), Niki Minaj’s cousin’s friend whose testicles may or may not have been swollen and a whole world that hates the libs that are telling people not to get jabbed. Of course there are fewer and fewer conservative, anti vax talk show hosts these days since Covid seems to be finding them like tornadoes find trailer parks.

Overdrive isn't meant to be much more than "the guys" talking sports. I think they do a great job. Not overly professional, plus they do dumb poop making fun of themselves all the time.
