Oh hell I remember as a kid having our class go into a lineup in the hall and we all got a shot and was taken back to class… don’t remember what that was for (I was like 6) but I do remember it’s a vaccine
Then there’s a bunch you’re given as a baby.
Anti vaccination is no more than foolishness these days
- Dozzer
while I nearly completely agree, the concerns voiced aren't complete foolishness.
We've all had vaccines, yeah, I agree, anti-vax people are morons. BUT, in fairness, the new mRNA vaccines have not. This is the first time they've ever been used. If we were to find out there was some sort of an issue with them, well.... we've just pumped them into something like a billion plus people. counterpoint - they've been researched and in the works since the 90s. It's not like they've mixed up some crap in their backyard last week and decided to pump them into everyone. Also, get a vector viral one if you want. They're out there.
Also, I think you'd be surprised at how many cases of adverse effects people have been getting. Maybe not deaths, but other problems. Doctors get shunned for voicing them, but I know a couple of doctors, and they both say there are many people experiencing issues with these vaccines. There is a borderline gag order on doctors saying anything negative about them though. I believe there was actually a doctor that got disclipined earlier this year for saying things contradictory to public health guidelines. aka disagreeing with the public health message.
And then the question becomes, what is our goal right now? we're not going to eradicate this thing. It's not going to happen. I believe the WHO has already said it's not going to happen, and it's no longer considered a pandemic, it's an "endemic". So, it's never going to go away, just lurk in the background in some areas, with occasional breakouts.
So, I guess you have to start thinking about things. I would vax my kid, when he's at the right age or if they declare it safe for younger kids. I fully believe in vaccinations.
BUT, I also don't think it's my place to force other people to vaccinate their kids, no matter how foolish I think their concerns are. And if you do think it's okay to force them, and more importantly, force them in this particular case, in which we don't necessarily know long term effects, what are you trying to accomplish? Protect yourself? Well, you're vaccinated, you're not likely to die. Protect your kid? Well, the mortality rate in kids is near non-existant. Eradicate this thing? not really an argument/possibility anymore.
I think we all need to take precautions as best as we can, wear your mask, for now. But we also have to move on with life, because this thing is sticking around long term. We ahve to just accept that and live life as normal as we possibly can. I for one, don't really care if the guy I sit next to at a hockey game is vaxxed or not anymore. He may get me sick. I won't like it. He won't like it more than me though. Also, getting the actual virus builds a better immunity than the vaccines, so eventually, many more will get "vaccinated" the hard way.
