Auston Matthews Over / Under Goals this season

53.5

- senstroll

I'll say under only because I want him and Marner to play on separate lines and I think that will pull Matthews' production down.

But only slightly under.

Bruce, Zezel's entire gag is that he bleeds blue and is a huge Leafs supporter no matter what. The picture was entirely justified to his character and what he is about as a celebration.

I didn't even know India has blue banana's until that search.

Which btw...I'd try.

When eating bananas is outlawed only banana eaters will eat bananas.

Seriously though, I eat more bananas than a gorilla.

We've all been around long enough to know what the (frank)ing filter replaces the (frank)ing words with anyway. Literally no reason to try and (frank)ing cheat the piece of poop.

Oh ya if Marner is on another line, then he's only getting 30 goals.

Nice. I didn't grow this year, but I've done habs, reapers, scorpions, ghosts, etc.

Somehow I got so used to it I could process the ultra hots with no gloves. My signature sauce was murderous.

- Zezel

Ya, I haven't had the oil come through the gloves before so i'm thinking these Habs must be on the very hot side as far as Hab/SB's go.

The kids were in another room and were complaining about their eyes watering.

I love heat but anything more than a Habanero is pure torture for me. I mix my Habanero's with Orange sweet peppers to make them a bit more family friendly too. They'd still blow the inside of your bumhole out though.

I’m not saying he isn’t a leafs fan but if he doesn’t post maturely he is deserving of a potential ban.

I found adding sweet peppers is a nice touch for flavour even with superhots. Habaneros can get hot as Nylander too. I grew some Peruvian White Habs that were insane.

Always good to have some vanilla ice cream on hand when testing the sauce.

The athletics leaf fan survey bore some fruit.

"The next, somewhat related, question we asked was “Who is your least favourite member of the team?” I think we should probably reword this one in the future to be a little less harsh … but, as it was, Marner received 35 percent of the votes cast. Twenty percent of voters chose “none” or a similar non-answer, while Pierre Engvall (11 percent), Wayne Simmonds and Alexander Kerfoot (5 percent) all received a decent number of responses."

Apparently it's not just the few of us on here that aren't big on softie mccantplayoff.

Also, favourite leafs:

1 - Matthews
2 - Spezza.
Barely 3rd - Nylander.

53.5 is a very high number for over under, but I’m pretty sure he scored 40 as a 19 year old with brown and hyman as his line mates.

I’ll say over which is crazy

The thing is that Leaf fans are all "what have you done for me lately?" fans. Marner has performed in the playoffs. Marner has won the Memorial Cup, the OHL Championship - and been the MVP of both; he has 25pts in 32 playoff games at the NHL level. Last year Marner had 4pts in 7 games - and he did have a few great looks, but Price made some great saves, including one 10-bell save. If Marner cashes on the one-timer; if Tavares is there and the Canadiens can't double down on defense against the Matthews-Marner pairing; if Keefe splits Matthews & Marner . . . any of those would drastically change the results of that poll.

COVID flattened the cap and now Marner is to blame in Toronto for everything that goes wrong. We spent the last 40 years lamenting our inability to draft home grown talent and when we do, everyone wants to run the kid out of town.

We lost to Montreal because of more than Mitch Marner.

Fans are nothing if not slaves to recency bias.

This season is Marner's chance to more than redeem himself. One good playoff series will negate any and all previous bad playoff series.

My habanero's have been popping the last couple of weeks. This weekend was hot sauce manufacturing day. I wore medical gloves while cleaning chopping and fermenting the little (frank)ers.

A couple of my fingers are still tingling today.

I'm going to put that poop on everything and Mrs. Lawsie is going to hate me.

- The Law

If you want to strip down the heat of habaneros but keep the flavour, scrape the inside walls with a spoon until you've removed a solid mm of the inside of the pepper. And chuck the seeds obviously.

And yes, definitely wear gloves or you'll still burn your Richard off every time you take a leak a week later no matter how many times you've washed your hands.

My habaneros have had a rough ride this summer, I suspect it's mostly because we've been under smoke for what feels like a couple months in Alberta and the sun can't get to them. Same with all my sweet peppers and banana peppers. Oddly enough my jalapenos seem to be doing better than usual though. 🤔

The problem is Marner is paid at a level that demands a player step up come playoff time, not step back.

No one cares what he did in major junior. There's been many a player succeed in major junior who couldn't translate that to the NHL.

To that extent... I feel like when the going gets tough his instinct is to go back to what worked in junior. Him and the fans need to let go of junior hockey.

One of the worst things I've ever done in my life is definitely cutting up a poop load of habaneros, washing my hands thinking that was good... And then taking my contacts out.

Agreed - two weeks into the season and those numbers will flip around. Polls are just a good opportunity to be heard and to throw tomatoes.

Hell, Marner would probably vote for himself too.

I trust almost all Leaf fans know that MM is our 1B and once he figures out how to playoff we'll be building statues of him.

Marner and Matthews were the key players that were going to bring us a Cup. They didn’t play at the level they needed to. Matthews is a no fly zone so step on up Mitchy.
