Well I do like what Tkachuk brings as a whole.

But 8M per year for someone who never scored at a 60 points pace in a season is alot of money.

i don't see what other choice Ottawa has. his numbers are very similar to Svechnikov's so it makes sense he would get a similar contract offer. as for going shorter term... Ottawa doesn't exactly have a great track record of hanging on to their stars when they near their huge payday.
