I appreciate your optimism.
Every year there's a team that underwhelms on paper, underachieves regular season and manages to be a contender or champion. The Blues did it. I'd like to think thats the case with the Flames and if every current player(JG, Tkachuk, Mony, hell even Looch) can elevate their games under Sutter and play to where they are capable of, I'd agree, they can be a playoff team and thats were anything can happen. We need better results from our top players. Period, Full stop. That and a bounce back year from Markstrom, I'm squarely in the half full camp. Speaking of Markstrom, you guys see the mask?

After looking on instagram at our players, let's just say I'm not overly impressed with physical changes. I don't see any drastic changes that you'd expect in light of Sutter being proactive and involved with that aspect this off-seasons, as reported by the media.. except Zary bulked up pretty good. I don't want to call a particular roster player out, but for the money they make, they can afford top notch advice.
If they're going for lightweight, lean bodies, I don't understand why you wouldn't want to get rid of extra body fat to get more ripped in the off-season.
Conversely, if they want to get big, why don't they reach that same physique as an NFL wide receiver? |

Are you serious? You looked on Instagram and came up with that conclusion? I know as a fact that one of the players on the Flames (he trains with my cousin) worked all off season with a nutritionist, psychologist, sports med doctor and a personal trainer whos specializes in NHL specific routines and that still doesn't include the on-ice stuff. Ya its not Gary's but I think a couple are his clients. He's got a similar program as Gary's but he's not based in Ontario. |

So that' would be Lucic/Tanev who reportedly spent the off-season in Calgary? I'm not talking about them.
when a player looks like he's at 22% body fat.. it blows my mind that NHL players don't have the same elite physique that NFL WRs have. McDavid has more of a jogger's physique, so if you want to be lightweight to be fast.. why lug around that extra weight at 22%.... |

No I'm not singling anyone out, but we'll get a better look once camp starts..
Iginla's former home is back on the market, I happened to just notice. It's listed $2.5m cheaper than what Iggy listed it for, it made the news shortly after he was traded to COL, and within 24 hours it was sold if you guys remember.

Iginla was never traded to Colorado, he signed as a free agent in 2014 to a 3 year deal. Write that down.

Big deal
it was to PIT! - eastcanadAREaholes Iginla was a huge disappointment with us... instead of stepping up when it mattered most, he was quoted "Let's have fun!" - still a brilliant regular season player (adding: who in his younger years also scored 37g in 82 playoff-gp). |

Are you stupid...
You said Iginla was traded to Colorado. - FlamesFan1230

You called me stupid for mixing up a team.. if you get so excited about something like that.. obviously you don't have too much going for yourself |

it's actually listed 800k above what it sold for originally. I'm pretty sure he listed it for $7m, must have sold for less |

No, it was neither of those two. 'when a player looks like he has 22% body fat'. So by looking at Instagram, you've determined a player's %body fat? You do realize that football and hockey are FUNDAMENTALLY different sports? A defenseman's physical focus is going to be different than a (McDavid type) forward. McDavid putting on 20 lbs of muscle isn't what his game is geared for, nor is Gaudreau's. Lucic is going to have a different workout routine than Tkachuk or Mangiapane's. You clearly don't understand human kinetics or what an off season routine involves for an NHL player. The fact you use Instagram photos as the basis of your argument explains a lot. |

Crappy. Was looking forward to seeing how he did in Stockton. |

Hope John is ok, but it's weird to have an entire prospects camp come and go without a single update. Especially considering there were two games mixed in there.
Anywho, I hope Zary is good! Popsicle looks like a player. Liked what I saw from Nikolayev, too. Pettersen has great hands. Pelletier is going to have a huge main camp and make the team, I think. |

No way you think he's better than Richardson?!?!
I am still awaiting for the inevitable PTO's to be announced....gotta be some more old re-treads the Flames are looking at bringing in....
Going back to what was being talked about before, I feel like the Flames owners are Jerry Jones lite. Business people meddling in hockey decisions. Sad part is we will never know.
