He had problems last year with Zone. Think we need to get that Oline playing better, I mean on 51 drop backs last week Allen was either pressured, sacked or hit on 34 of them. - Buff36
He’s gotta get rid of the ball quicker too
Granted, Pitt has a good defense
But so do other good teams that we are gonna wanna beat this season (and in the playoffs)
I think Daboll needs to do a better job of mixing in different formations.
When there is no threat of a running game and you keep coming out in 3 wide and 4 wide and the Steelers are just going to sit back then you’re playing to their strengths.
Then again, how many defences have the front 7 the Steelers have that can apply pressure without blitzing and be able to devote more guys to coverage areas ? Very few.
Football is a game of chess and the Steelers are one of the few teams that can matchup with the Bills strengths.
We’ll see how they do against Miami this week. - Pegullaville
Miami has a pretty good defense too
But yeah…. I was saying all last year that we need to run the ball more
Gotta keep the defense on their toes
Singletary averaged over 6yds/carry last week, didn’t he?
Idk why we don’t use him more??

Miami plays more man though no ?
I also don’t know who they have rushing the passer.

Bills O-line has to be much better regardless - Pegullaville
I believe Miami does play a lot of man
But of Pittsburgh just gave the league a blueprint to slow us down, then u can bet other teams will start copying it
Allen is gonna have to find a way to perform regardless of the O-line

Sure but having a blue print and having the personnel to do it are two different things.
Bills will also adjust I’m sure.
It’s week 1 and everyone is getting the cobwebs out

bad coaching
should have just dinked and dunked it down the field like the brady led pats
Seven other OHL players have scored at least 50 goals in their NHL draft season since 2000-01: Corey Locke (63, 2002-03), Kane (62, 2006-07), Steven Stamkos (58, 2007-08), John Tavares (58, 2008-09), Jeff Skinner (50, 2009-10), Alex DeBrincat (51, 2015-16) and Arthur Kaliyev (51, 2018-19).
Maybe the Sabres also liked that they think he drives a line too. Drafting 18 year olds is about projecting what they will be not who they are at that point. I'll wait before I jump on the rip Quinn train and Canonize Rossi.
nope
interior o line sucked
when he should have kicked a field goal, he punted
it's 1 game against a decent team
in many ways could be the best thing to happen for them, a wake up call early - homiedclown
U can blame the interior o-line if u want
Bottom line is that the offense wasn’t effective
And Allen missed passes even when he did have time
(Ex: deep pass to wide open Sanders that he overthrew)
And yeah, Pitt is a good team & a good defense
I’ve already acknowledged that
Hopefully you’re right that it’s a “wake up call”
Bc that game was ugly
And i don’t think any of us wanna see more like it

50 word post that says absolutely nothing of substance, just trying to provoke an argument. M
Quinn could be the best thing since sliced bread, it’s just that the Sabres passed on players that have a higher probability of being bonafide top 6 forwards.
Like others have said, time will tell. - Pegullaville
Good post. Very well explained.
I'm trying to be excited about this pick. The big positive for me : outstanding athlete.
Eichel had a similar report.
His commitment to solely being a hockey player, could leave him with a higher ceiling?

Completely agree homie.
Was that the coaches or the big gun hyped up mvp caliber qb throwing deep?
Allen not only missed 3 deep balls. The competitions were nice throws into double coverage and sometimes triple coverage. Seamed more like allen not taking what was given. Tough call

Was probably a bit of both, with other contributing factors as well
It wasn’t all Allen’s fault, and it wasn’t all the coaches fault, and it wasn’t all the O-line’s fault, and it wasn’t just bc Pitt has a good defense….
The bottom line is that the offense wasn’t effective
And that can’t continue if we wanna be a Super Bowl contender
