Interesting,
Corey Pronman has heard the NHL will move the 2022 Draft into early July.
Since the the year traditionally ends each June 30th, with the FA period starting on July 1st...the Draft would occur after the start of FA and when No Trade and No Movement clauses kick in with the start of each new year.
Since the Draft is when the most trades occur, wonder if it will have any impact on the Eichel Trade assuming he is still here through this season. |

That's assuming the league wouldn't also push out the date that the new league year begins as well. |

Correct.
I would think that would be more difficult to justify and require NHLPA approval as well.
I can see the draft moved back as the Playoffs typically end into June...but even then GMs would still have ~ 2-1/2 weeks to finalize their draft board. I'd like to understand the reasoning. |

good... hopefully that puts a chip on their shoulder.. seems like they would rather sit in the underdog category anyway |

Hey All...any word on how to watch the Prospects this weekend for us out-of-towners? I assume Sabres.com will stream it but haven't seen anything yet. Cheers! |

Going back to the Quinn-at-center conversation, it's interesting to note that Adams mentioned the concept on his draft day
From Sabres.com:
What the Sabres strived to do in their evaluation process was discover the "why" and "how" behind the data. The metrics revealed that Quinn was a player who drove possession and had the puck on his stick often in the OHL. They liked that he scored in different ways, with 37 goals at even strength and 15 on the power play. Adams said Quinn even had "center tendencies" playing on the wing.
It's certainly something to monitor going forward |

Neither have I. The Sabres website has nothing about a telecast or YouTube stream that I've seen |

They typically live stream on sabres.com. I'd also assume Paul Hamilton will be on the call for WGR.

Liking a player and choosing him, knowing it's possible to be versatile is/can be mutually exclusive of picking a center because he has experience at center.
There is no "Well we needed a center so we ignored it and picked a guy who we had ranked below the available centers because we're jerkoffs"
They're jerkoffs for many reasons, but not because of that. And look. They analytically defended the pick, something most of us have been clamoring for. |

The league is projecting that 98% of the players will be vaccinated. Apparently it is not a requirement for the players like it is for all staffing, which I suppose shouldn't be a surprise considering the players fall under a union that the staff do not.
Tony D will be under strict protocols. |

The same analytics team that brought us Cody Eakin and Tobias Reider that same offseason.
Analytics also favoured Rossi, Perfetti, Lundell and if we are privy on wingers Seth Jarvis would have even been a better pick analytically speaking.
We’ve gone from was Jack Quinn the best player available at 8th OA to is he even a better prospect than Peterka.

based upon that quote does it make you think that they feel that a lot of Rossi's success was driven by Quinn? |

You have. The crying over spilled milk needs to stop. I mean I guess it doesn't considering this is a discussion forum, but looking in the rearview mirror all the time is no way to live. In my opinion. |

They saw something in him before the draft that said center is a possibility. If this weekend goes well then there's no reason he shouldn't start at C in Roch |
