Sabres to play vs Toronto in the heritage outdoor game, the NHL really knows how to kick a team in the balls when they are down..
Thanks Gary.... |

They did better than boston... and Boston had 3 pick ina row - DirtyDan
That draft costed the Bruins one, if not multiple, Stanley cups.
Jack Quinn becoming this decades Drew Stafford is all fine and dandy but Rossi, Perfetti, Lundell are all tracking, at this point in their developments which are subject to change, to be top 6 line drivers while the Sabres are sitting here with a complimentary player.

Quinn has a small sample overall. That's fair. But are we including the fact that he had a meteoric rise his draft year? What does that count for? Why exactly did he rocket up? What did all of these scouts see exactly? - TheSabresTaco
We only know what the Sabres scouts saw.
How do we know he doesnât drop to 12-15 if the Sabres donât take him ? |

A bit of a hyperbole, but you don't draft Michael McCloud when Matthew Tkachuk is on the board because you need a (frank)ing center. It's irresponsible at best. You take the best player. If Jack Quinn is the best player in the long term at that point in time, you take him. It's that simple. Using the 'well other guys are centers' argument is nonsense, at best.
If they turn out to be right, we all benefit. If they're wrong, then they're wrong, and that sucks for all of us, and then we get sucked into a 'but Draisaitl' argument again and that should be a blast. - TheSabresTaco
Yeah thatâs extreme hyperbole as all three of those centers were ranked/are still ranked higher by most. Iâm not complaining about the puck anymore, and hope Quinn turns out. Thatâs all we got at this point |

Consider all you like. The only thing that matters is where these guys are at 24, 25. All situations are different. What league you're in, what position you play, how many minutes you receive, what team mates you play with, injuries you're dealing with, how your coach uses you, where you are in your development, what qualities you have on the ice and physically, what your competition is..
Saying one guy that plays a different position in a different league is better than another guy in a completely different situation is beyond ludicrous.
Jack Eichel had a poopty juniors. Peterka and Mittelstadt outscored him, so does that make them better at the same age? It's nonsense. - TheSabresTaco

Partially, but the point was that he was outscored by Mittelstadt and Peterka. According to the conclusions previously drawn here, Eichel at 18 was an inferior product than the other two at 18,19

1 year.
He also played for Austria this summer in Olympic qualifying and is participating in Minnesotaâs prospect camp as we speak.
Here is the reality of the situation. We have Mittelstadt who is a 3C who has upside of being a 2C. We have Cozens whom for now projects as a 2C.
Then we have about 10 prospects who look like 3rd line wingers with 2nd line upside.
Outside of Cozens, I donât see any forward prospect in the organization that has slam dunk top line upside.
Rossi/Perfetti/Lundell though could have given us a second prospect outside of Cozens though with that type of upside.
Iâm not looking through the rear view mirror, Iâm looking 3 exits ahead on the freeway |

So we arenât going to consider his performance overseas in the Austrian league and DEL while Quinn had like 20+ other teenagers out score him in the AHL ? - Pegullaville

When I played, I had a hernia and no skill to play the game of hockey... That didn't stop me from becoming the league MVP, in my head.
Also, this never happened. |
