You think Elias is getting 11 million? - Reubenkincade
I think he’s getting 8.5 and Hughes is getting 7.5…. |

Benning did the same thing in the Boeser year . Right up to training camp. Boeser got here late for TC.
Hughes and Canucks might find out they are a better defensive team without Hughes
That was for Rubey . - VANTEL
I think Horvat's negotiation went pretty late into the summer too |

IMO it doesn’t matter how long it goes, the players are in a position of control. Benning needs them more than they need to sign. They’re both young and have their whole careers ahead, Benning is on his last legs with the team if they aren’t competitive. Which they won’t be without those two. |

Hopefully they can find some common ground, but I don’t see Petey moving off his number, he’s a cocky fugger!! |

1) 13M very doable bridge. But Canucks pressing for longterm.
2) Why fit Ferland under the cap? - NuckUp
Because being over the cap in LTIR means no cap space later in the season to add a player - unless they move someone like Myers. But if they fit Ferland in under the cap they can use Abbotsford to accumulate space to add a player at the deadline and then go over in LTIR. |

They will have a season ending injury to Myers who will be miraculously cured first day of playoffs.

I think Elias is needed, the other guy, I couldn't give 2 s hits about. |

It doesn't matter how it gets spun, the Canucks DO NOT have 16 million of capspace available to sign both players. |

I don’t think the D will be good enough to win playoff games. The forwards might do enough to get them to the playoffs, but I’d like them to be in a position to add a quality D at the deadline. So creating space will be important day to day. Plus, the season is longer in days this year, so single day demotions to the AHL creates less space, relatively speaking. The cap guys (is that Chris Gear?) do a great job, it’s definitely a strength of the organization. Just hope that Benning gives them runway to work their magic. |

Speaking of cap space, this is interesting…

If a player gets Covid/misses games because of Covid they get suspended by the team and the team claws back that cap space. - 1970vintage
I think it was John Shannon today that said a lot of disadvantages for non vaxed players. Different travel that the rest of the team. Hotels , locker rooms , team meals . Also as you said if they get Covid they get suspended with no pay. |

There’s a bunch of “Kucherov looses his sense of taste and smell” tweets already. But I can’t see teams using Covid to abuse the cap because players won’t get paid. |

I don't know what will happen this year but they should have an award every year for the best LTIR excuse like the uniforms melting my skin .

They're Ok. I think he could've done better. I like the modern flashy stuff. Although I think they've gotten carried away with the size and all of the cheaty padding that fills holes more than it protects.
While I was searching for Driedger's pads on the webz I found someone who designed these. They are killer.

How long until the Kraken pay Disney to license Capt Jack Sparrow’s face on the goalie pads? |
