If Gaudreau ++ is involved in a trade involving Eichel, I would think that Eichel is coming to Calgary. They are not going to want to facilitate getting Eichel to L.A., Flames will be fighting L.A. for a playoff spot, they would be cutting their own throat doing this. Of course I can say this because there are zero details of what such a trade might look like. It's one thing to just say this - but if it's supposed to be credible, provide some details - or it remains not credible!
Why would buffalo want Johnny G. They are rebuilding. They want prospects and picks not a UFA. It would him coming to buffalo so they could flip him for more picks and players. Only way it makes sense for buffalo.
Nothing about this makes much sense. Gaudreau is no longer regarded as an elite player and I doubt he would be a significant asset for any team in any deal. If he went to Buffalo it would be to offset a big salary coming back. But Buffalo would want a lot more than that for Eichel. In regard to Calgary holding water for LA on an Eichel bid...it just does not compute for me.

I dunno about that... over the last 3 years he's ranked 16th in the NHL in points - out of 1200 players... I mean, he's not generational, but he's elite and I don't think that's really in dispute.
Like, poop, are you saying Aho isn't elite? Point? Tavares?
A three way trade is, I believe, the only way that something gets done here. The acquiring team needs to clear some cap space out to fit Eichel in, and someone is going to have to move prospects to Buffalo to facilitate a trade. The problem for any team like the Kings or those who have drafted similarly high, is that they have the cap space, but also will need to pay their kids PDQ and can't take Eichel's term and dollars.
Who are the other major UFAs, represented by Brisson, waiting for Eichel to be traded so they get a contract offer? James Neal? Eric Staal? I'm struggling to see who is waiting on Eichel.
Not sure why anyone would take these so called rumors seriously. Over the years I'm following this site I think only one of these ever came to past. Not sure what sources he has but they are not too good!

JG had 49 points in 56 games last year.
Brady Tkachuk led your team the Sens with 36 points in 56 games last year.
JG would have been the leading scorer on 13 teams with his 49 PTS last year.
I think your statement about JG not being a significant asset for any team is well....... DUMB!
Gaudreau's a UFA next summer, it doesn't make sense. Also Gaudreau has a NMC and there's a small possibility he saw what happened to Hall in Buffalo.. points wise, and next contract wise. Talk, negotiate, announce rumours until you're blue in the face - Gaudreau has a 5 team trade list, and there's no chance Buffalo's on it.

Nothing about this makes much sense. Spatso is no longer regarded as an intelligent hockey fan.
no way Gaudreau ends up in buffalo. he has some discretion in where he is moved with his limited NMC and cant imagine a guy entering his final year wants to go to buffalo. not sure i see calgary looking to help LA out, unless they get a major asset in the deal, which i doubt LA would offer calgary. nobody plays for the sabres on purpose anymore.
these rumors are getting more and more ridiculous by the day. i've been trying to cancel my subscription to this page and cannot get a response from them. too busy making up BS rumors
