Why is the argument always based around "futures"?
It could also be a move for a replacement with a pick or prospect added on our side depending on the other player's contract value. Couldn't it?
Obviously Dubas needs a trading partner but losing him for nothing while this team still doesn't have its poop together, not good asset management. At all IMO. - underhill14
Clearly management doesn’t agree that this team doesn’t have its poop together. They are a hoot to very good team, probably in the second tier. More importantly, they’re going to start to see a bunch of contracts of key players come up in the next few years so the idea of futures is relevant.
I’m not sure anybody would argue against moving Rielly for an equal or even almost equal guy for the same or close to same money signed for a few years. I really doubt that deal is there.
There is more than one way to define the assets we’re managing here. One important asset is the number of years we have until the core pieces are gone (unless you hate the core pieces) |

You must have played CTO a bunch in your days? If so I apologize if I ever spilled beer on you. - The Law
Oh played that bar plenty of times. Got to the point that I’d just book it, and organize my band’s shows. I remember doing shows where The Sheepdogs would open for us before they made it big time.
And if you did spill any I probably didn’t notice, the bloody stage was boiling hot so I was always soaked in my sweat anyways lol |

If Rielly isn't worth that then why worry so much about keeping him for this phantom Cup run?
Try to trade for a legit #3/4 bad ass D and a LW or picks and call it a day. There's some other type of deal that could help the team.
I just don't think this is a Cup team with the Cap issues. Losing players the past few years for nothing is really depleting the cupboards.
Muzz, Brodie
Sandin, Rielly acquisition...someone mean that crosschecks.
Dermott, Holl
This would probably be a better situation than losing him for nothing. - underhill14
Oh I’m not against moving him myself but the management and coaching staff do consider this team a competitor for the cup so don’t expect them to dump guys off.
Also your d pairings wouldn’t be good. Holl is alright but only when playing with Muzzin tbh, so pairing him up with Dermott would be one terrible 3rd pairing imo

You watch your franking mouth, Zezzie.
Back in the day, it was the place to go on Saturday nights after the game.
Al Strachan was always there. Gord Miller was there a lot. Paul Romanuk.
And Wendel would often show up (he lived on Madison).
It's where I saw the 2002 gold medal game. Funny story: before the game, a guy wearing a USA jersey sorta sidled up to us - asked if it was OK if he watched with us, because he was worried about his safety. We laughed - assured him he was fine, as long as Canada won. Turned out to be a nice guy.
I also saw the Tuck Rule Game there. - Atomic Wedgie
It's because the times I was there, I was totally smashed, and that is not a good placed to be if you are having trouble walking a straight line. I mean like destroyed. I feel ill just thinking of my shattered memories of the place. |

The long term stones bassist? Lol
I’m a bit different, always wore a fedora low hiding my eyes cause they’d shine back at the lighting |

I lived on Walmer Road, half a block down from Bloor. With windows open in the summer, the sounds and smell of patrons leaving the Brunswick at closing every night was very special.
I fell in love with Ms Pac-Man in the bar (not the Hall) at that place - Canada Cup
What a place it was, didn't have the fame of the El Mocambo but the best blues club north of the 49th for sure. I saw Willie Dixon play there, (his son on guitar) Sat at a table no more than 20 feet from the stage.

Here’s one towards the end for me, stage lighting was starting to bug me too much due to my epilepsy… this was in 2017

#21 wasn't exactly known for that, was he...
You're right about him never wanting the "C" for exactly that though - having to speak politely to the media was never his thing!
- but ask Sakic who was the best player on that team... - 21peter
Forsberg > Sakic. |

Well I’m playing at home again and have loosely talked to old friends about jamming. Want to go see some shows to make sure lighting still no longer bothers me post surgery. So far so good tho |
