It really isn’t.
Rielly is far and away the #1
The rest are average, Holl and Dermott are borderline NHL dmen. |

Huh?
Reilly was terrible last year but was better in the playoffs.
Brodie was probably the most solid player all year then muzzin |

I feel like Muzzin is the most important defenseman on the Leafs.
Not necessarely the one with the most abilities.
But without him, the defense crumbles.
Either way, even if you're extremely confident in him taking a step forward next year, he's at the most the Leafs 3rd best. And that's not being very nice to Brodie.
I feel like he still has alot to prove. |

That left side is abysmal. I think Robertson is 100% going to be in the lineup. Ritchie is brutal offensively, and Bunting is unproven. If Mikheyev and Engvall don’t get off to a hot start I can see Dubas going out and grabbing another LW.
Also, Sandin is our second best defenceman. Brodie is solid, but isn’t a threat. Muzzin.. idk we’ll see. It’s time for Robertson and Sandin to play key roles, and I think they’re ready for it. - Arctic_AARDVARK
So does that make morgan our 3rd best dman?
Weird that our 2nd best dman has yet to make the line up on a reg basis.
We'll see |

This is so insane to me, the lack of respect Rielly gets from Leafs fans.
He’s so clearly our best defenceman and it’s not even debatable. |

Left side was weak last season too, they replaced Hyman and Thornton with Bunting and Ritchie
So, nothing has changed.
I would like to see Robertson get a chance, maybe he can beat out Mikheyev? I like Engvall, because he can play C. |

That’s sorta like saying Heiskenan, Hughes, Fox are the third best dmen on their teams. They’re all young, great skaters with offensive upside. Sandin will be that type of player.
Muzzin and Brodie can play defence, but they’re sorta statues out there. |

best and most important are not the same thing.. I trust Muzzin and Brodie more than Rielly on defense, but if I had to pick one to start a team with, I'd take Rielly |

Well once Sandin actually plays like Heiskanen, Hughes or Fox, I'll agree with you.
Until then, he's a young talented player who has alot to prove.
The guys you mentioned don't just have upside, they have actual results.

Vancouver ain't that terrible imo. Probably not good enough to make the playoffs.... but not terrible.
Well assuming they sign their RFAs at least.

Vancouver could surprise a few teams.
Pettersson, Miller, Boeser, Horvat, Hughes, OEL, Garland, Demko.. They have a lot of good pieces in place |
