If I was trading Hughes I wouldn't give a rats ass about uniting the Hughes boys . I would look at what is best for the Canucks and I would be looking at a return of Bahl Holtz and Smith . I would also see what the best offer is with all 31 teams.

I wasn't thinking in actual negotiations I was thinking they can stay closer to the cap and keep Ferland on IR until day one of the season for max LTIR. Put Motte on LTIR and when the season starts move Ferland to LTIR.
