Maybe Ross goes in for Matt or Cal. They will need a break during the season anyway. I do think think Matt can take Reaves. Has to be Ross or Chara.

I agree, Ses. Martin is getting on in years anyway. I could see them resting him in Ranger games and playing Ross in his place, unless they can squeeze Ross onto the 3rd line. I don't want to see Martin fighting Reaves.

Would not be a good idea for Matt to fight Reaves and it's good to sit Martin and Cal throughout the year as needed. To me playing Ross against the Rangers is a must as they are going to look to start something. The Isles 4th line is not like Wilson but Dolan has an issue with the Islanders playing tough.

We have one Dr. Fauci already no need for Lou to be another one. People can get the vaccine if they like but a young and healthy athlete should be allowed to play and take he risk. The virus is very real but so is the power grab.

You really think Trotz would break up that line especially a game against the Rangers? No shot that ever happens if they are healthy. They play their best in these types of games. If Parise is struggling maybe he sits other then that I just don't see it.

I know NBCSP is airing it in Philly. Not sure if MSG will simulcast it or not. Going to guess no, because I want to watch it

I believe the Rangers game is on both channels tonight

Not a power grab. Sometimes you just have to take one for the team.

I think he'd rather squeeze Ross onto the 3rd line, but I also think Martin may need a little rest from time to time, now that he's approaching his mid-30s. Ross looked good on that line a couple of nights ago.

I meant power grab by the Government. I'm not afraid of the unvaccinated. If these vaccines work there is no fear. This virus is not going away totally and we have to learn to live with it and sending away the unvaccinated is not learning to live with it. Are the Nets going to send Irving away? Does Lou think if every Islander got the shot none of them can get Covid again?

I agree, Trotz isn't going to change his lineup because of Reeves. He's going to put his best lineup out there and beat them on the scoreboard. The team is tough enough overall to take care of them selves imho.

Trotz said a few days ago that the RW on the Barzal/Lee line would be either Palmieri or Wahlstrom, with Palmieri getting the spot out of camp since he's a veteran. Whoever isn't on that line, will play with Parise/Pageau on the 3rd line. Wahlstrom will undoubtedly get PP time as well, probably a fair amount of it with one of the two units.

Entirely possible he ends up on Barzal's line at some point during the season, but for now expect him to play with Parise/Pageau...which is no slouch of a line.

He scored at about a 22g pace over a full 82gm season last year, 12g in 44gp. He averaged about 12.5/min of TOI per game, which I imagine will go up this year in a more permanent role. Figure maybe around 15m per game...which will probably be affected by how many PP's the Isles get. He likely won't be a big assist guy. Wouldn't be surprised to see him post a stat line that looks something around 24g, 20a, 44pts.

Thanks for this! I know you're knowledegable with the Isles and will stick with him for the time being.

Funny part is I got Palmieri in the last round with the third last pick in the draft. I was happy about that considering our league includes everything (hits, +/-, etc.). I'm hoping the Isles build on their success from last year. How can you not cheer for Trotz and Lou!? very well respected Hockey minds!

He's probably a high-risk/high-reward kind of fantasy player. Dropping him and then seeing him pot 30 over the course of the year would be tough. But it's no secret Barry prefers older guys to younger guys so you also know he's on a short leash. I have a draft coming up in a few weeks and he'd be someone I'd love to steal towards the end of the draft, but wouldn't want to take him too high.

That was my issue. I also inherited a team in a keeper league and didn't realize the guy had made a few trades to put himself in a better spot this year so at one point, I waited 52 picks before my next one. it would have been Dubois instead if I knew beforehand. Shame on me for not reviewing where my picks were.
