I've read a lot of people saying OEL is gonna replace what Edler brought, but then I'm reading a lot of reviews from the camp that OEL is really good at getting shots through to the goal.... so naturally it's quite confusing |

Not the same size but I guess on hits. Though Dumba should be what Woo should aspire too. |

Not looking good for OJ
I can't believe how much that off-season set back this organization.
This guy sounds absolutely cooked
rathbone is so far past him. |

Thoughts from #Canucks practice/scrimmage:
Podkolzin is physically ready for this level & makes good decisions
Klimovich has skill for days. Very little detail in his game
Di Giuseppe has a lot to offer
If Juolevi wasnt a 1st rnd pick we would never talk about him - VANTEL
We've have a lot of 1st round picks we no longer talk about. |

Any chance we can get a 2nd for OJ from AZ? They have a lot lol

Why not just trade him to AZ and they eat another 2 mil of OEL's contract. |

I don't think so.
I have seen trade proposals on other sites with him involved and they get rejected immediately. Most people see him as a bust . I am not a GM but second round picks are starting to carry a lot of value and OJ not so much. You could probably pick up a waiver player or UFA that could do what he can.

It's a bummer - I always held out hope he could be a 5-6 guy that was steady / better than most teams 5-6 and could step into top 4 for injuries. With a low cap hit too. But not looking good now. Lucky Rathbone looks like a gem.

It's really unfortunate, hindsight is always 20/20, but injuries derailed his career and progression. I'd just put him on waivers and hope someone takes him off our hands |

I think what might happen to him is LTIR Covid related until he gets his conditioning back.

Probably?
Do people still think he would get claimed? |

He would be a Leaf in no time
They just took Ho Sang and have him playing with Tavares. |

With Abby in play now, if the Canucks are really worried about claims, they could go with 9 d-men on the NHL roster. Might not matter now if Hamonic doesn't show up. |

Thank you very much, Carol!!
Great read and so nice reading about camp, a somewhat normal camp. Happy to have Schenn back in the fold. - Marwood
I think this is one of the best moves Benning made all summer. Schenn is such a good player, I think he woke up one day in the AHL and woke the fawk up. I'm actually pumped that Quinn is not signed yet - it opens up a spot for Schenn and Rathbone to play regularly. Once JR gets some regular reps I think he's gonna surpass QH and he'll become dispensable. Thats my hot take |

Like the start for Pods:
When it came time for the bag skate, Podkolzin and Miller were step for step as the leaders in their group. Conditioning was definitely not a problem for the Canucks’ future dynamic duo. Oh right, Podkolzin was also one of the last players off the ice as he joined future Abbotsford Canuck, Jarid Lukosevicius in gathering up all the pucks at the end of practice. Character and hard work are just in his nature, period.

Might be a rookie thing but I think he is going to have a strong year. |

I think Juolevi had a severe back injury and then a knee and for obvious reasons he has never quite recovered. I think he'll pass through waivers along with the rest of the list. And regular minutes in Abby, the whole year will benefit him greatly. He'll be a guy that we have around when injuries pile up and he's a much better option than Brisebois. Unfortunately the sigma of the 5OV will always taint this kid. I do think if he didn't suffer either of those injuries he still probably wouldn't have lived up to expectations of such a high pick BUT he would've been a regular in the lineup, not fancy, trustworthy - basically a clone of Tanev. I would've been happy with that. |

Thats awesome - I bet he's one of the only other kids that speaks Russian. A lot of stories i read about the Ruskies having success in the NHL is when they have someone on the team to help them integrate. Hope Pod got a good seat mate on AirCanucks - this might be why Benning resigned Sutter.....fawking genius move! |
