Let's see a kid who risked future career earnings for family and a top education , vs a clearly flawed defenseman, who wants to cash in now before the majority catch on .. JR + the return for QH will always outweigh just QH' s benefits

We shall see, he aint done poop in the NHL, ut was smart of him to getba free ride but that doesmt make him good at hockey.

Theres different types of intelligences, not a lot of harvard grads in professional sports. Simple fact is it doesnt require book smarts, im not sure why thisnis shocking to you.

I think Juolevi had a severe back injury and then a knee and for obvious reasons he has never quite recovered. I think he'll pass through waivers along with the rest of the list. And regular minutes in Abby, the whole year will benefit him greatly. He'll be a guy that we have around when injuries pile up and he's a much better option than Brisebois. Unfortunately the sigma of the 5OV will always taint this kid. I do think if he didn't suffer either of those injuries he still probably wouldn't have lived up to expectations of such a high pick BUT he would've been a regular in the lineup, not fancy, trustworthy - basically a clone of Tanev. I would've been happy with that.

Before camp even started JB talked about OJ being hit really hard by covid compared to others and losing 15 pounds etc. With the amount of people pointing fingers at people down playing the effects of covid long term.... I'm questioning why they have completely dismissed this possibility being a factor in the bag skate?

Hey man I warned it was a hot take. But I'll add some context to the thought process. Rathbone compared to Hughes - they both skate quite equally, Quinn seems to have a higher upside offensively - but we also haven't had a chance to see a full season or two from JR. Rathbone has better shot, was already given PP reps, is stronger and is IMO already has better natural defensive instincts. Even if Rathbone averages less points than QH, I think he makes the team better defensively - I'd rather have the balance.

If QH signs a 2-3 bridge - I'm willing to bet we circle back to this conversation (when the bridge deal expires) and the deciding factor on whether QH stays or walks is based on JR.

Actually, its more of Luke warm take

A very valid take except for the expendable part.

I hope Rathbone pans out, but hes starting his NHL career at 22 for a reason. Not on the same level at all imo. Great looking shot though!

Didn't he stay back a year to spend time with his younger brother? Seems like exactly the type of dude I want on this team. Plus I don't think starting his career one year later is gonna hurt him, I think it'll be a benefit. I'm expecting him to come in a little more well rounded off the hop. Don't think you'll see the same sophomore like slump QH went through either. Now we wait and see.

Isn't it 2 or 3 years later than Hughes who almost and arguably should have won the Calder?

Glad Green is trying to see if Pearson fits on a line with Horvat. You know, he's never had a chance to do that yet over the last 3 seasons.

Sure looks like the strategy here is to see who fits with Bo and Pearson. I'll stand by my feeling the seasons starts with those two together regardless of what is learned in camp. The "3 scoring lines" speech has been made leading up to three camps in a row. With or without the depth to do this, it will remain the same. 1 scoring line. That is Green's comfort zone. Old school bag skating dinosaur.

Have you tried Kosher Kush yet? I finally grew out the pack of seeds I had. Holy Fuk! This poop is serious. Got to assume its great for pain. I know it's great for sleep. Not day weed at all but I highly recommend it for times when you want a heavy stone or to knock people off their feet with the strongest bud they ever smoked. It was crowned "King of Bud" for 4 years straight I think...award given to strongest strains.

Got two keeper phenos out of the pack. Both world class...

Have not heard of it but will certainly look into it. I've got 2 indicas & 2 sativas, Blue Cookies and Grandaddy Purple & Green Crack and Cafe Racer. The Cafe Racer is quite spectacular looking with some really deep purple in the buds. The Blue Cookies is a small but dense plant with huge buds. Tried some Strawberry Banana recently that was thunderf*ck.

I've done all those except Cafe Racer and Strawberry Banana. Green Crack I had early 2000's. Grandaddy late 90's.

I looked it up. Sounds amazing, will definitely consider it for next year.
The Green Crack (hate the name) is an excellent sativa, perfect strain for gardening or a hike in the trails. The Strawberry Banana is a really strong indica, perfect for pain or reading Neem's posts.
